Lakeshore Records has released the cover version of Leonard Cohen’s Bird on a Wire from the fifth episode of the Hulu original series The Great. The track is performed by Simone Istwa and produced by Zachary Dawes. The song is now available to stream/download as a digital single on Amazon can also be checked out after the jump. The song will also be featured on the show’s full soundtrack album, which will be released digitally tomorrow (click here for the full album details). The Great is created by Tony McNamara and stars Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult, Phoebe Fox, Gwilym Lee, Charity Wakefield, Adam Godley, Douglas Hodge, Sebastian de Souza and Belinda Bromilow.

Siddhartha Khosla & Lauren Culjak Scoring Hulu’s ‘Love, Victor’
Siddhartha Khosla (This Is Us, Runaways, Looking for Alaska, The Royals) has teamed up with Lauren Culjak to score the upcoming Hulu original series Love, Victor. The show is created by Isaac Aptaker & Elizabeth Berger based on the 2018 feature Love, Simon, which was inspired by Becky Albertalli’s novel Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, and stars Michael Cimino, Ana Ortiz, James Martinez, Isabella Ferreira, Rachel Naomi Hilson, Bebe Wood, George Sear, Anthony Turpel and Mason Gooding The dramedy is set in the world of the Love, Simon movie (scored by Rob Simonsen) and follows a new student at Creekwood High School on his own journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city, and struggling with his sexual orientation.
Soundtrack Album for Hulu’s ‘The Great’ to Be Released
Lakeshore Records will release the official soundtrack album for the Hulu original series The Great. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Nathan Barr (True Blood, The Americans, Hollywood, The House with a Clock in Its Walls, Hostel, Carnival Row, The Hunt). Also included is the song Bird on a Wire by Simone Istwa. The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 22 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Great is created by Tony McNamara and stars Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult, Phoebe Fox, Gwilym Lee, Charity Wakefield, Adam Godley, Douglas Hodge, Sebastian de Souza, Sacha Dhawan, Bayo Gbadamosi and Belinda Bromilow. Steven & Julie Bernstein Scoring Hulu’s ‘Animaniacs’ Reboot
Steven Bernstein & Julie Bernstein have recently been scoring the upcoming reboot of the animated series Animaniacs. Steven Spielberg returns as executive producer of the show, which revolves around Warner brothers, Yakko and Wakko, and the Warner sisters who have a great time wreaking havoc and mayhem in the lives of everyone they meet. Pinky and the Brain will also make appearances in each episode. Rob Paulsen, Jess Harnell,Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche and Frank Welker are among the project’s voice cast. Sam Register (Teen Titans, Ben 10), President of Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series, and Amblin Television Co-Presidents Justin Falvey & Darryl Frank (The Americans, Under the Dome) are also executive producing the project.

Premiering on Wednesday, May 6, is the Netflix documentary Becoming directed by Nadia Hallgren and produced by Katy Chevigny, Marilyn Ness & Lauren Cioffi about the life of former First Lady Michelle Obama as she embarks on a 34-city tour. The film’s original music is composed by jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington. Premiering on Friday, May 8, is the Netflix limited series The Eddy created by Jack Thorne and starring André Holland, Joanna Kulig, Amandla Stenberg, Leila Bekhti and Tahar Rahim. Glen Ballard (The Polar Express) and Randy Kerber (The Color Purple) have composed the show’s original music. Arista Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ songs from the drama on Friday. Chris Westlake Scoring Hulu’s ‘Solar Opposites’
Chris Westlake (Castle Rock, Before We Go, Small Town Crimes, Transit, Midnighters) is the composer of the new Hulu original series Solar Opposites. The show is created by Justin Roiland (Rick & Morty) & Mike McMahan and features the voices of Roiland himself, Sean Giambrone, Thomas Middleditch and Mary Mac. The animated comedy centers around a team of four aliens who escape their exploding home world only to crash land into a move-in ready home in suburban America. Roiland and McMahan are also executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television production with Josh Bycel (Scrubs, Happy Endings).
‘Normal People’ Soundtrack Album Released
Element Pictures has released a soundtrack album for the BBC/Hulu limited series Normal People. The album features the show’s original music composed by Stephen Rennicks (Room, Frank, The Little Stranger, What Richard Did, Rebellion, Birthmarked). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Normal People is written by Sally Rooney & Alice Birch based on Rooney’s New York Times best-selling novel of the same name and stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal. The drama produced by Lenny Abrahams revolves around the complicated relationship of Marianne and Connell from the end of their school days in a small town in the west of Ireland to their undergraduate years at Trinity College.
‘Das Boot’ Season 2 Soundtrack Released
Bavaria Sonor Mediathek has released a soundtrack album for the Sky sequel series Das Boot. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Matthias Weber (The Dark Valley, My Best Enemy). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The label has previously released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score from the first season. Season 2 of Das Boot is directed by Matthias Glasner & Rick Ostermann and stars Vicky Krieps, Tom Wlaschiha, Rick Okon, Vincent Kartheiser, Fleur Geffrier, Thierry Frémont, Rainer Bock, Leonard Scheicher, Robert Stadlober, Franz Dinda, Stefan Konarske, Leon Lukas Blaschke and Pit Bukowski who reprise their roles from the first season.
‘Devs’ Soundtrack Album to Be Released
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the FX on Hulu original series Devs. The album features the show’s original music composed by Ben Salisbury & Geoff Barrow (Annihilation, Ex Machina, Hanna, Luce, Free Fire) and The Insects (Hanna). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, May 1 and will be available to stream/download here. CD and vinyl editions are also in the works. Devs is created by Alex Garland and stars Sonoya Mizuno, Nick Offerman, Jin Ha, Zach Grenier, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Cailee Spaeny and Alison Pill. The sci-fi thriller follows a young software engineer who investigates the secret development division of her employer, a cutting-edge tech company based in Silicon Valley, which she believes is behind the murder of her boyfriend.
