David Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale, Stargate, Sherlock, Tomorrow Never Dies, Shaft) has been tapped to score the upcoming animated special Mog’s Christmas. The film is directed by Robin Shaw (We’re Going on a Bear Hunt) and features the voices of Adjoa Andoh as the narrator, as well as Claire Foy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Miriam Margolyes, Zawe Ashton, Maggie Steed, Gareth Berliner, Charlie Higson, Amelie Law, Teddy Skelton and Tacy Kneale. The short is based Judith Kerr’s children’s book of the same title and tells the story of a family cat who feels ignored on Christmas.

‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ 25th Anniversary Expanded Edition Soundtrack Album Announced
La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1997 James Bond movie Tomorrow Never Dies directed by Roger Spottiswoode and starring Pierce Brosnan, Jonathan Pryce, Michelle Yeoh, Teri Hatcher and Judi Dench. The 2-CD set features the expanded and remastered original score from the MGM production composed by David Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale, Die Another Day, Stargate, Sherlock, Quantum of Solace), including previously unreleased music, as well as the opening and closing titles songs, Tomorrow Never Dies performed by Sheryl Crow and Surrender performed by k.d. lang, and alternate score and source cues. The 25th Anniversary Edition soundtrack is limited to 5,000 copies and will be available to order on La-La Land’s official website at 12:00pm PST on November 29.

The movie, which revolves around two journalists who hold the fate of the election in their hands, will be available to stream exclusively on Peacock.

David Arnold to Score Robin Shaw’s ‘The Storm Whale Trilogy’
David Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale, Stargate, Sherlock, Tomorrow Never Dies, Hot Fuzz) is set to score The Storm Whale Trilogy, three half-hour animated specials based on the children’s books by Benji Davies. The three specials, The Storm Whale, The Storm Whale in Winter and Grandma Bird, are written and directed by Robin Shaw (We’re Going on a Bear Hunt), produced by Lupus Films and tell the story of a young boy living on a small island with only some sleepy cats and shy sea creatures for company while his father is out to catch fish, when a baby whale washes up on the island.
‘Hot Fuzz’ Digital Score Album Released
Back Lot Music has released a digital version of the score album for Edgar Wright’s 2007 action comedy Hot Fuzz starring Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Jim Broadbent and Timothy Dalton. The album features the film’s original score composed by David Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale, Stargate, Tomorrow Never Dies, Sherlock, Godzilla, Good Omens). Composer David Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale, Stargate, Sherlock, Tomorrow Never Dies, Shaft, Die Another Day, Godzilla) is reuniting with director Greg Mottola on the upcoming comedy Confess, Fletch. The movie is based on the second novel of Gregory Mcdonald’s 1970s mystery novel series (which has previously been adapted into the Harold-Faltermeyer-scored 80s features Fletch & Fletch Lives) and stars Jon Hamm, Marcia Gay Harden, Kyle MacLachlan, Roy Wood Jr., John Slattery, Annie Mumolo, Ayden Mayeri and Lorenza Izzo. The movie follows an investigative journalist who finds himself in the middle of a murder investigation, in which he is pinned as the prime suspect.
