Fifth Season & Lakeshore Records have released a second soundtrack for the Apple TV+ limited series Lady in the Lake. The 5-track EP features the songs/live performances from the show produced by Grammy Award nominee Bekon and performed by lead actress Moses Ingram, Jennifer Mogbock, Toni Scruggs and Natalie Jacobs. A first album featuring Marcus Norris’ original score from the 7-part thriller was released last Friday. Premiering today is the MGM+ original series Emperor of Ocean Park developed by Sherman Payne based on the novel by Stephen L. Carter and starring Forest Whitaker, Keith Powers, Keith Kupferer, Kelli Simpkins and Deanna Reed-Foster. The show’s original music is composed by Amanda Jones (Moving On, Naomi, Mea Culpa, The Perfect Find, Super/Natural, Young Love, Good Trouble). The drama, which is set in Martha’s Vineyard and follows an esteemed law professor whose quiet life is shattered when his father dies of an apparent heart attack, but his sister, a former journalist and conspiracy theorist, believes that the judge met with foul play, will be available to stream exclusively on MGM+.
Premiering on Thursday, July 18, is the action comedy sequel My Spy: The Eternal City directed by Pete Segal and starring Dave Bautista, Chloe Coleman, Flula Borg, Kristen Schaal, Billy Barratt, Taeho K, Craig Robinson, Anna Faris and Ken Jeong. Marcus Norris (Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul.) has provided the original score for the upcoming Apple TV+ limited series Lady in the Lake. Grammy Award-nominated music producer Bekon (who scored last year’s Netflix film You People) has composed and produced the live performances of the show created by Alma Har’el (Honey Boy) and starring Natalie Portman, Moses Ingram, Y’lan Noel, Brett Gelman, Noah Jupe, Byron Bowers, Josiah Cross, Mikey Madison and Pruitt Taylor Vince. The 7-part thriller is based on the 2019 novel of the same title by Laura Lippman and follows two women whose lives converge on a fatal collision course after he disappearance of a young girl grips the city of Baltimore on Thanksgiving 1966.
‘You People’ Soundtrack Album Details
Netflix Music will release a soundtrack album for the streamer’s original film You People. The album features the movie’s original music composed by singer/songwriter and record producer Bekon (aka Daniel Tannenbaum). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 27. You People is directed by Kenya Barris and stars Jonah Hill (who also co-wrote the screenplay with Barris), Lauren London, Eddie Murphy, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Nia Long, David Duchovny, Sam Jay, Travis Bennett, Molly Gordon, Rhea Perlman, Elliott Gould, Mike Epps and La La Anthony. The comedy follows a new couple learns that opposites attract but some families don’t when they find themselves confronting their parent’s clashing views of their relationship.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the thriller Missing directed by Will Merrick & Nick Johnson and starring Storm Reid, Nia Long, Ken Leung, Joaquim de Almeida, Amy Landecker and Daniel Henney. The film’s original music composed by Julian Scherle (Princess of the Row, Heart of the Champions, Buried: The 1982 Alpine Meadows Avalanche). Sony Masterworks/Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Opening semi-wide in around 500 theaters this week following an awards-qualifying run last November is the drama The Son co-written and directed by Florian Zeller and starring Hugh Jackman, Laura Dern, Zen McGrath Vanessa Kirby and Anthony Hopkins. Hans Zimmer (Inception, The Lion King, Gladiator, Dune, The Dark Knight) has composed the film’s original music. The comedy centers on two LA millennials from different backgrounds who fall in love and face the ultimate relationship test: meeting the parents.
