Dominik Scherrer is scoring the upcoming Netflix/BBC limited series The Serpent. The show is written by Richard Warlow & Toby Finlay, directed by Tom Shankland & Hans Herbots and stars Jenna Coleman, Billy Howle, Ellie Bamber, Tahar Ramin, Alice Englert, Mathilde Warnier, Gregoire Isvarine, Sahajak Boonthanakit and Fabien Frankel. The 8-part crime drama tells the story of Charles Sobhraj who was the chief suspect in the unsolved murders of up to 20 young Western travellers across India, Thailand and Nepal’s ‘Hippie Trail’ in 1975 and 1976.

Matthew Herbert Scoring BBC’s ‘Noughts + Crosses’
Matthew Herbert (Disobedience, A Fantastic Woman, Gloria Bell, The Cave) has composed the original music for the upcoming BBC series Noughts + Crosses. The show is based on Malorie Blackman’s young adult novel series of the same title and stars Jack Rowan, Masali Baduza, Paterson Joseph, Bonnie Mbuli, Kike Brimah, Helen Baxendale, Ian Hart and Josh Dylan and Shaun Dingwall. The sci-fi drama adapted by Toby Whithouse (Being Human), Lydia Adetunji, Nathaniel Price and Rachel De-Lahay follows two young people who are divided by their color but united by love.
‘Mimi and the Mountain Dragon’ Soundtrack Released
Decca Classics has released a soundtrack album for the animated TV special Mimi and the Mountain Dragon. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Rachel Portman (Emma, The Cider House Rules, Chocolat, The Manchurian Candidate, Never Let Me Go) and performed by the BBC Philharmonic featuring singers from the Hallé’s family of choirs. Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack album for the BBC/Netflix series Dracula. The album features selections of the original music from the show composed by David Arnold (Casino Royale, Independence Day, Stargate, Tomorrow Never Dies) & Michael Price (Unforgotten, A Fantastic Fear of Everything, Another Me) who previously co-scored all episodes of BBC’s Sherlock. Among the musicians featured on the composers’ score are cello soloists Tim Gill (London Sinfonietta Principal), Caroline Dale (Truly, Madly, Deeply, Hilary and Jackie) and electric cello from Peter Gregson, as well as classical soprano Grace Davidson and jazz singer Sumudu Jayatilak. The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 10, 2020 (click here to order) and physically on January 31. The (spoiler-heavy) track list will be revealed after the show premieres in early January.
