Element Pictures has announced that composer Stephen Rennicks (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, The Quiet Girl, Alice & Jack, Rosie, Rebellion) is set to reteam with Lenny Abrahamson on the director’s next, currently untitled, feature. The film is written and directed by Abrahamson and will star Tom Burke, Eve Hewson and Shane Meagher. No plot details have been revealed yet for the movie, which is set in Dublin’s Jewish community in the late 1970s. Abrahamson is also producing the project with Ed Guiney (The Favourite, The Lobster), Andrew Lowe (Poor Things, Bugonia) and Catherine Magee (Small Things Like These).

Stephen Rennicks Scoring Hulu’s & BBC’s ‘Conversations with Friends’
Stephen Rennicks is scoring the upcoming Hulu limited series Conversations with Friends. The show is based on Sally Rooney’s best-selling novel of the same name and stars Alison Oliver, Joe Alwyn, Sasha Lane and Jemima Kirke. The drama centers on a 21-year old college student as she navigates a series of relationships that force her to confront her own vulnerabilities for the first time. Ed Guiney (The Favourite, The Lobster), Emma Norton (Rosie, The Souvenir: Part II) and Andrew Lowe (The Guard, Ripper Street) are executive producing the Element Pictures production with Lenny Abrahamson who also directed multiple episodes.

Element Pictures has released a soundtrack album for the BBC/Hulu limited series Normal People. The album features the show’s original music composed by Stephen Rennicks (Room, Frank, The Little Stranger, What Richard Did, Rebellion, Birthmarked). The film starring Domhnall Gleeson, Ruth Wilson, Will Poulter and Charlotte Rampling is based on Sarah Waters’ 2009 novel of the same title and takes place in post-WWII Britain, where a doctor revisits a crumbling great house where his mother once worked as a nurse maid and becomes obsessed with marrying one of the owner’s daughters. Lucinda Coxon (The Danish Girl, Wild Target) wrote the screenplay.

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for Lenny Abrahamson’s indie drama Room. The album features the film’s original music composed by Stephen Rennicks who previously collaborated with the director on last year’s Frank. Also included is Brie Larson’s performance of Big Rock Candy Mountain and This Will Destroy You’s The Mighty Rio Grande. Stephen Rennicks is reteaming with director Lenny Abrahamson to score the upcoming drama Room. The movie stars Brie Larson, Jacob Tremblay, Joan Allen, William H. Macy, Sean Bridgers, Tom McCamus and Megan Park. The film is based on the bestselling 2010 novel by Emma Donoghue and is told from the viewpoint of a 5-year-old boy who is being held captive with his mother in a small room. Donoghue has also written the screenplay. Ed Guiney (The Guard, Shadow Dancer) is producing the Element Pictures and No Trace Camping production with David Gross (Goon, What If). Rennicks has previously scored Abrahamson’s previous features, including last year’s Frank starring Michael Fassbender, as well as What Richard Did, Garage and Adam & Paul. Room is set to premiere in September at the Toronto International Film Festival and will be released on October 16, 2015 by A24 Films
