Silva Screen Records has announced two new soundtrack albums for the original Doctor Who series created by Sydney Newman, C. E. Webber & Donald Wilson. Titles include the Season 12 finale, Revenge of the Cybermen, which first premiered in 1975 and stars Tom Baker as the fourth Doctor, featuring music by Carey Blyton with Peter Howell and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. BBC’s ‘Planet Earth III’ to Feature Music by Hans Zimmer, Jacob Shea, Sara Barone, Russell Emanuel & Bastille’s Dan Smith
BBC announced today that Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Dune, The Dark Knight, Inception), Jacob Shea (Seven Worlds One Planet, Blue Planet II), Sara Barone (Grimcutty), producer Russell Emanuel (of Bleeding Fingers Music) and Bastille’s Dan Smith have collaborated to create the score for the upcoming nature documentary series Planet Earth III. Smith’s vocals will also be featured on the show’s opening title theme song, as well as within all episodes of the series and a reworking of Bastille’s single, Pompeii entitled Pompeii MMXXIII, plays during the project’s end credits. A first track (entitled Mother Nature) created and performed by Zimmer, singer/songwriter RAYE and Bastille, in collaboration with composer collective Bleeding Fingers Music, can be heard in the first teaser trailer (embedded below).
Aaron May & David Ridley Scoring BBC’s ‘Boiling Point’ TV Series
Aaron May & David Ridley (Malpractice, Villain, Arsène Wenger: Invincible) are the composers of the new BBC drama Boiling Point. The showbased on the 2021 feature of the same title (scored by May & Ridley) is written by James Cummings and stars Stephen Graham, Vinette Robinson, Ahmed Malek, Daniel Larkari, Hannah Walters, Stephen McMillan, Taz Skylar and Shaun Fagan. The 4-parter directed by Philip Barantini & Mounia Akl follows head chef Carly who is battling to forge a name for new London restaurant Point North alongside her old kitchen crew.

Niall Byrne (In Darkness, Hatton Garden, The Murders at White House Farm, Manhunt) is the composer of the upcoming BBC drama The Reckoning. The show is written by Neil McKay (Dream Horse, Four Lives) and stars Steve Coogan, Gemma Jones, Siobhan Finneran, Mark Lewis Jones and Mark Stanley. The 4-part series traces the life of Jimmy Savile, a man who became one of the UK’s most influential celebrities, but in death has become one of the most reviled figures of modern history following revelations of extensive abuse.
