Silva Screen Records has released the first tracks from the soundtrack for the BBC natural history series Earth. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is the One Planet. Many Lives EP featuring five tracks written by the show’s composer Paul Saunderson (Three Identical Strangers, Trying, The More You Ignore Me, The Grand Duke of Corsica). Also listen to all tracks after the jump. As previously reported, a full soundtrack album is scheduled to come out on August 22. Rael Jones Scoring BBC’s ‘The Sixth Commandment’
Rael Jones (Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris, Harlots, My Cousin Rachel, Kids in Love) is the composer of the new BBC drama The Sixth Commandment. The show is written by Sarah Phelps (A Very British Scandal, Dublin Murders) and stars Timothy Spall, Anne Reid, Éanna Hardwicke, Annabel Scholey, Ben Bailey Smith, Sheila Hancock, Conor MacNeill, Adrian Rawlins and Amanda Root. Soundtrack Album for BBC’s ‘The Gallows Pole’ to Be Released
Rocket Recordings will release a soundtrack album for the BBC period drama The Gallows Pole. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by the Swedish psychedelic rock band Goat. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, July 7 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Gallows Pole is written and directed by Shane Meadows and stars Michael Socha, Sophie McShera, Thomas Turgoose, Anthony Welsh, Yusra Warsama, Samuel Edward-Cook, Adam Fogerty, Joe Sproulle, Nicole Barber-Lane, Fine Time Fontayne and Ralph Ineson. The 3-parter is based on the novel of the same title by Benjamin Myers and tells the true story of the Cragg Vale Coiners – a community of weavers and land-workers in 18th Century Yorkshire that embarked upon one of the biggest frauds in British history.
‘Once Upon a Time in Northern Ireland’ Soundtrack Album Released
Redrocca has released a soundtrack album for the BBC documentary series Once Upon a Time in Northern Ireland. The album features the show’s original music composed by Simon Russell (Smash & Grab: The Story of the Pink Panthers, Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer, Afghan Star, Once Upon a Time in Iraq). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and any other major digital music services), where you can also check out audio samples. Once Upon a Time in Northern Ireland is directed by James Bluemel and combines personal accounts with archive footage to tell the story of the people who lived through The Trouble and are still dealing with its legacies today.

The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by Matt Blackman (No Activity, Mr Black). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Colin from Accounts is created by Harriet Dyer & Patrick Brammall and stars Dyer & Brammall themselves, as well as Helen Thomson, Genevieve Hegney, Emma Harvie, Michael Logo and Tai Hara. The comedy revolves around two single, complex humans who are brought together by a car accident and an injured dog.

The show is written by Ed Whitmore (Manhunt, Identity) and stars Philip Glenister, Steffan Rhodri, Keith Allen, Sharon Morgan, Priyanga Burford, Scott Arthur and Siôn Alun Davies. The 4-part series directed by Marc Evans (Hunky Dory, Trauma) is based on a true story and centers on the hunt to catch the killer of three young women in the Port Talbot area and how the mystery was solved almost 30 years later using pioneering DNA evidence.
‘Rain Dogs’ Soundtrack Album Announced
Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack album for the BBC/HBO original series Rain Dogs. The album features the show’s original music composed by Alex Baranowski (True Things, The Windmere Children, Burial, A Christmas Carol, Staged, A Perfect Enemy). The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 19 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Rain Dogs is written and created by Cash Carraway and stars Daisy May Cooper, Jack Farthing, Ronke Adekoluejo, Adrian Edmondson and Fleur Tashjian. The comedy drama follows a recently sober single mother to a ten-year-old girl who is doing everything she can to make ends meet.
Murray Gold to Return as Composer for BBC’s ‘Doctor Who’
BBC announced today that Murray Gold (Torchwood, Gentleman Jack, It’s a Sin, Quiz, A Very English Scandal) is returning to score the BBC series Doctor Who. The composer who previously scored all episodes between 2005 and 2017 will be collaborating with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales to compose the music for three special episodes celebrating the shows 60th anniversary with David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor (to premiere this November), before Ncuti Gatwa takes control of the TARDIS as the Fifteenth Doctor with his first episode airing over the 2023/2024 holiday season.
