Milan Records has released the theme song from the upcoming Netflix animated series Ada Twist, Scientist. The song written by Kay Hanley, Michelle Lewis & Dan Petty and performed by Renée Elise Goldsberry is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music platforms. Premiering today is the Starz original series Heels created by Michael Waldron and stars Stephen Amell, Alexander Ludwig, Alison Luff, Mary McCormack, James Harrison, Allen Maldonado and Chris Bauer. The show’s original music is composed by Jeff Cardoni (Silicon Valley, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, CSI: Miami, The Kominsky Method, Step Up All In). Lionsgate Records will release weekly soundtracks featuring Cardoni’s score and other music from the drama. The first soundtrack featuring music from the first episode has just been  released today. Premiering in the U.S. on Wednesday, August 18 is the crime drama The Defeated created by Måns Mårlind and starring Taylor Kitsch, Nina Hoss, Logan Marshall-Green, Michael C. Hall, Tuppence Middleton, Mala Emde, Maximilian Ehrenreich, Sebastian Koch and Benjamin Sadler. Chanda Dancy (After We Leave, Pigeon Kings, Dramarama) has composed the show’s original music. Nathaniel Mechaly has previously scored the original version of the series, which premiered overseas under the title Shadowplay. Lionsgate Records has released the first soundtrack for the Starz original series Heels. The 7-track album features music from the first episode of the show, including selections of the original score composed by Jeff Cardoni (Silicon Valley, The Kominsky Method, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, Turner & Hooch), the main title theme Love In War by Cardoni & Band of Horses’ Ben Bridwell, as well as songs performed by Coincidental Minors feat. The film is written and directed by Edoardo Vitaletti and stars Isabelle Fuhrman, Rory Culkin, Judith Roberts an Stefanie Scott. The movie revolves around a young woman who is under investigation following the mysterious death of her family’s matriarch. Isen Robbins & Aimee Schoof (Tesla, Experimenter) are producing the project for Intrinsic Value Films, alongside Harrison Allen & Madeleine Schumacher for Arachnid Films, as well as Stephen Tedeschi (Blue Caprice). Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the adventure comedy Free Guy directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Comer,  Lil Rel Howery, Joe Keery, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Taika Waititi. The film’s original score is composed by Christophe Beck (FrozenAnt-Man,WandaVisionThe HangoverThe Peanuts MovieEdge of TomorrowBuffy the Vampire Slayer). The 6-track EP features the original songs ( You Make Me Wanna Sing & How We Change/Finale) from the final episode of the show’s first season written by Cinco Paul. Terence Blanchard (Malcolm X, BlacKkKlansman, 25th Hour, Inside Man, Harriet, One Night in Miami…) has composed the original score for the new HBO docu-series NYC Epicenters 9/11➔2021½. The show is directed by Spike Lee and weaves together the stories, memories and insights of those who were eyewitnesses to New York’s greatest challenges. The 4-parter features interviews with Jon Stewart, Rosie Perez, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Chuck Schumer, Bill De Blasio, Dr. Anthony Fauci, among others and explores New York City’s resilience and grit and affirming its innate ability to rebound, rebuild and endure. MovieScore Media has announced a soundtrack album for the documentary Misha and the Wolves. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nick Foster (Thunderbirds Are Go, The A List, Cuckoo, Year of the Rabbit, Sackboy: A Big Adventure) and performed by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 3, 2021 by MovieScore Media’s new sub-label Reality Bytes and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Misha and the Wolves is directed by Sam Hobkinson and centers on a woman’s dramatic memoir of surviving the Holocaust that takes the world by storm, until a falling-out causes her publisher to investigate the veracity of her claims. Other People has released a soundtrack album for the Chilean drama Ema. The album features the film’s original score composed by Nicolas Jaar (Dheepan, Beginning). Also included are songs performed by Estado Unido, Senti Docomún and Stephanie Janaina.
