Sonar Music will release the official soundtrack album for the Australian/New Zealand historical epic The Convert. The album features the film’s original music composed by Matteo Zingales (99 Homes,The Hunter,  Fahrenheit 451TidelandsMystery Road) . The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 21 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Convert is co-written and directed by Lee Tamahori and stars Guy Pearce, Tioreore Ngatai-Melbourne, Antonio Te Maioha, Jacqueline McKenzie and Lawrence Makoare. The movie is set in early 19th Century New Zealand and tells the story of a newly arrived preacher in a colonial town who finds himself at the center of a long-standing battle between two Māori tribes. Singer/songwriter Phosphorescent (aka Matthew Houck) has made his feature scoring debut on the upcoming drama Oh, Canada. The film is written and directed by Paul Schrader (Taxi Driver, American Gigolo, First Reformed) and stars Richard Gere, Uma Thurman, Jacob Elordi, Michael Imperioli and Victoria Hill. The album features the original score from the Universal Pictures production composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Dimitri Tiomkin (High Noon, The Alamo, It’s A Wonderful LifeGiant, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, The Guns of Navarone).
