Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1990 action comedy Another 48 Hrs. directed by Walter Hill and starring Eddie Murphy, Nick Nolte, Brion James, Kevin Tighe and Ed O’Ross The album features the world premiere release of the complete original score from the Paramount Pictures production composed and conducted by Academy Award winner James Horner (Titanic, Avatar, Braveheart, A Beautiful Mind, The Amazing Spider-Man, Apollo 13, Willow, Field of Dreams, Aliens). Ryan Lott (of Son Lux) (The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, Paper Towns, Mean Dreams) & Keir Schmidt have teamed up to score the new Freeform original series Single Drunk Female. The show is created by Simone Finch and stars Sofia Black-D’Elia, Ally Sheedy, Rebecca Henderson, Sasha Compère, Lily Mae Harrington and Garrick Bernard. The comedy revolves around a 20-something alcoholic who – after a public flame-out at a New York media company – is forced to seize the only chance she has to sober up and avoid jail time by moving back home with her overbearing mother. Dominican-Italian singer/songwriter Yendry has recorded an original song for the animated sequel Hotel Transylvania: Transformania. The track, entitled Love Is Not Hard to Find, is written by herself, Morien van der Tang (aka Morgan Avenue), Glen Faria, Faried Arween Jhauw (Jeremia Jones) & Jheynner Argote, and will be featured in the movie directed by Derek Drymon & Jennifer Kluska and starring Brian Hull, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kathryn Hahn, Jim Gaffigan, Steve Buscemi, David Spade, Molly Shannon, Keegan-Michael Key, Fran Drescher, Brad Abrell and Asher Blinkoff. Quartet Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1972 movie adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island directed by John Hough and starring Orson Welles (who also wrote the original version of the screenplay), Kim Burfield, Lionel Stander, Walter Slezak and Ángel del Pozo. The album features the film’s original music composed by Natale Massara (Craving Desire). Last week, Amelia Warner (Mary Shelley, Wild Mountain Thyme, Mum’s List) has recorded her score for the upcoming romantic comedy Mr. Malcolm’s List. The film is directed by Emma Holly Jones and stars Zawe Ashton, Freida Pinto, Sope Dirisu, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Theo James and Ashley Park. The movie is set in the early 19th Century and revolves around a society lady who gets jilted by London’s most eligible bachelor when she fails to meet one of the items on his list of requirements for a bride and enlists her friend to help her take revenge by tricking him into thinking he has found his perfect match. The album features the film’s original music composed by Grégoire Hetzel (Ismael’s Ghosts, Incendies, Lovers, The Midwife, SummertimeOh Mercy!Holy Lands). Hans Zimmer has received his third Golden Globe in the Original Score category for his score for Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic Dune at tonight’s 79th Golden Globe Awards ceremony. He previously his first two Golden Globes for 1994’s The Lion King and 2000’s Gladiator and was honored with multiple other nominations over the last three decades. The other composers nominated in the score category were Alexandre Desplat (The French Dispatch), Germaine Franco (Encanto), Jonny Greenwood (The Power of the Dog) and Alberto Iglesias (Parallel Mother). Dubois Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Sky original series A Discovery of Witches. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s third and final season composed by Rob Lane (John AdamsMerlin, The Damned United, AtlantisMotherFatherSonBeowulf). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 10 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The label has previously released two soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score from Season 1 and Season 2.
