Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross to Serve as Executive Producers on Joachim Rønning’s ‘TRON: Ares’
Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Soul, Watchmen, Challengers, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) have joined Russell Allen as executive producers on the sci-fi sequel TRON: Ares. The composers also scored the film (as Nine Inch Nails) directed by Joachim Rønning and starring Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Hasan Minhaj, Gillian Anderson, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan and Jeff Bridges. Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick, F1) who helmed 2010’s Tron: Legacy is also being credited as an executive producer. ‘TRON: Ares’ Soundtrack Album Announced
Interscope Records & The Null Corporation will release the official soundtrack album for the sci-fi sequel TRON: Ares. The album features the film’s original music composed by the Grammy Award-winning rock band Nine Inch Nails. The release marks the first-ever film score by the pioneering band, although bandmates Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross have previously scored numerous projects, including The Social Network, Soul, Challengers & Watchmen. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 19 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD and vinyl edition is also being released on the same day and will be available to order here within the next few days. A first track (As Alive As You Need Me to Be) as featured in the movie’s new trailer (embedded below) is already available to stream/download now. Nine Inch Nails to Compose Music for Joachim Rønning’s ‘Tron: Ares’
Disney announced at the studio’s presentation at D23 today that Nine Inch Nails will compose the music for the upcoming sci-fi sequel Tron: Ares. The film is directed by Joachim Rønning (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil) and stars Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan and Gillian Anderson. The follow-up to Disney’s 1982 classic Tron (scored by Wendy Carlos) and 2010’s Tron: Legacy (scored by Daft Punk) follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.

Walt Disney Records will release the official soundtrack album for the biographical sports drama Young Woman and the Sea. The album features the film’s original score composed by Amelia Warner (Mr. Malcolm’s List, Mary Shelley, Wild Mountain Thyme, Mum’s List). Amelia Warner (Mary Shelley, Mr. Malcolm’s List, Wild Mountain Thyme, Mum’s List) is currently recording her score for the upcoming biographical drama Young Woman and the Sea. The film is directed by Joachim Rønning (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Kon-Toki, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil) and stars Daisy Ridley, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Christopher Eccleston and Stephen Graham. The movie is based on the book of the same title by Glenn Stout and chronicles the journey of Gertrude “Trudy” Ederle , the first woman to ever swim across the English Channel in 1926.
Geoff Zanelli to Score ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’
Geoff Zanelli is reteaming with director Joachim Rønning on the upcoming fantasy adventure sequel Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. The film starring Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sam Riley, Harris Dickinson, Ed Skrein, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville picks up several years after the original 2014 film (which was scored by James Newton Howard) and explores the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.
