The team behind the sound mixing of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune has won the award for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing in the Motion Pictures – Live Action category at tonight’s 58th annual Cinema Audio Society Awards ceremony at the InterContinental in Downtown Los Angeles. Scoring mixer Alan Meyerson, along with production mixer: Mac Ruth, re-recording mixers Ron Bartlett & Douglas Hemphill, ADR mixer Tommy O’Connell and foley mixer Don White received the award for the sci-fi epic scored by Hans Zimmer. Matt Vucic has released a soundtrack album for the psychological horror thriller Tethered. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the horror movie X written and directed by Ti West and starsring Mia Goth, Jenna Ortega, Brittany Snow, Martin Henderson, Stephen Ure, Owen Campbell and Scott Mescudi. The film’s original music is composed by Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool 2, Watchmen, Hobbs & Shaw, John Wick, 300, Dawn of the Dead) and singer/songwriter Chelsea Wolfe. A24 Music will release a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score next Friday, March 25. Already available now is Wolfe’s cover of Oui Oui Marie.
