Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the mystery drama Where the Crawdads Sing directed by Olivia Newman and starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, Taylor John Smith, Harris Dickinson and David Strathairn. The film’s original music is composed by Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Capote, Moneyball, Little Miss Sunshine, The Good Dinosaur, Onward). Mercury Classics has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the original song Carolina written and performed by Taylor Swift today. Also opening wide is the animated comedy Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank directed by Rob Minkoff, Mark Koetsier & Chris Bailey and starring Michael Cera, Ricky Gervais, George Takei, Mel Brooks, Michelle Yeoh and Samuel L. Jackson. Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield Lane, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Outlander, The Walking Dead) has composed the film’s original score.
