Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1971 drama Mary, Queen of Scots directed by Charles Jarrott and starring Vanessa Redgrave, Glenda Jackson, Timothy Dalton, Patrick MacGoohan and Trevor Howard. The album features the expanded original score from the Universal Pictures production composed and conducted by Academy Award winner John Barry (Dances with Wolves, Goldfinger, Out of Africa, The Man with the Golden Gun, Body Heat, Somewhere in Time), including the world premiere release of the full score score in mono and the remastered original Decca album in stereo, as well as several source cues. The CD is limited to 3,000 copies and is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples.
