‘Enys Men’ Soundtrack Album Released

Invada Records has released a soundtrack album for the British horror movie Enys Men. The album features the film’s original score composed by writer/director Mark Jenkin (Bait). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Enys Men is written and directed by Jenkin and stars Mary Woodvine, Edward Rowe and Flo Crowe. The movie is set in 1973 and follows a wildlife volunteer on an uninhabited island off the British coast as he descends into a terrifying madness that challenges her grip on reality and pushes her into a living nightmare. Premiering today is the Netflix limited series Kaleidoscope created by Eric Garcia and starring Giancarlo Esposito, Paz Vega, Rufus Sewell, Jai Courtney, Tati Gabrielle, Rosaline Elbay and Peter Mark Kendall. The show’s original music is composed by Dominic Lewis (Bullet Train, The Man in the High Castle, Peter Rabbit, The King’s Man, Violent Night, Money Monster). Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past Friday. Also premiering today is the Peacock original series Paul T. Goldman directed by Jason Woliner and executive produced by Woliner, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Loreli Alanis, Megan Ellison, Michael Sagol and Bert Hamelinck. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Ronen Landa (The PactEloise, Cavemen, 1BRAt the Devil’s DoorA Rising Tide). Goldman is directed and executive produced by Jason Woliner (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm) and combines familiar doc elements with dramatized scenes that Goldman wrote about his story – starring Goldman playing himself – and weaves in behind-the-scenes footage from the making of this show. Dubois Records has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Stewart. The album features the film’s original music composed by Chris Roe (Armstrong, After Love, Mission Control: The Unsung Heroes of Apollo, Trigger PointLancasterDeath of a Gentleman). Stewart is directed by Patrick Mark and centers on legendary former Formula 1 World Champion, team owner and businessman, Sir Jackie Stewart. The album features the composer’s original music from the film and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Dating & New York is written and directed by Jonah Feingold and stars Francesca Reale, Jaboukie Young-White, Catherine Cohen and Brian Muller. The movie follows a man and a woman who meet on a dating app and draft an ironclad friends-with-benefits contract that will test the resolve of their otherwise seemingly perfect dynamic. Opening in New York and Los Angeles today before expanding nationwide on January 13 is the comedy drama A Man Called Otto directed by Marc Forster and starring Tom Hanks, Mariana Treviño, Rachel Keller and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo. The film’s original score is composed by Thomas Newman (The Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty, 1917, Finding Nemo, SkyfallWall-E). Mercury Classics Soundtracks & Score has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as an original song performed by Rita Wilson & Sebastián Yatra today. Opening in select theaters today before expanding nationwide on January 20 is the dramatic thriller Alice, Darling directed by Mary Nighy and starring Anna Kendrick, Wunmi Mosaku, Kaniethiio Horn and Charlie Carrick. Owen Pallett (Her, Life, The Box, Spaceship Earth, On the Count of Three) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. Joe Wong (Russian Doll, Master of None, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, The Midnight Gospel, Kenan) is composing the original music for the new ABC drama Will Trent. The show is developed by Liz Heldens (The Dropout, The Dropout) & Dan Thomsen based on Karin Slaughter’s New York Times bestselling series of the same name and stars Ramón Rodríguez, Erika Christensen, Iantha Richardson, Jake McLaughlin and Sonja Sohn. The series revolves around a Special Agent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI) who endured a harsh coming-of-age in Atlanta’s overwhelmed foster care system and is determined to use his unique point of view to make sure no one is abandoned like he was. Genie Music Corporation has released a soundtrack EP for the South Korean Netflix original series The Glory. The 5-track EP features five songs from the first part of the show by artists such as Kim Yeji, Kelley McRae, SURAN, Paul Kim and Yangpa. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Also listen to all five tracks below. The Glory is created by Kim Eun-sook & An Gil-ho and stars Song Hye-kyo, Lee Do-hyun, Lim Ji-yeon, Yeom Hye-ran and Park Sung-hoon. The drama centers on a woman who – after surviving horrific abuse in high school years earlier – puts an elaborate revenge scheme in motion to make the perpetrators pay for their crimes. Sony Classical will release the new record Beyond the Screen – Film Works on Piano by Rachel Portman featuring some of the composer’s most cherished film music for solo piano. The album was recorded in Berlin, with occasional accompaniment by cellist Raphaela Gromes and consists of 20 curated pieces that span Portman’s illustrious career, arranged to form an emotional and musical journey. Among the titles included are suites from the composer’s Academy Award-winning score for Douglas McGrath’s Emma, her Academy Award-nominated scores for Lasse Hallstrom’s The Cider House Rules and Chocolat, as well as her music for Mark Romanek’s Never Let Me Go, Lone Scherfig’s One Day and Saul Dibb’s The Duchess. The album will be released digitally and physically on March 3, 2023 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Eduard Artemyev (1937-2022)

Eduard Artemyev has passed away at age 85. The Russian composer was best known internationally for his scores for the films of Andrei Tarkovsky, including the 1972 sci-fi classic Solaris, 1975’s Mirror and 1979’s Stalker. He also composed the music for numerous movies directed by Nikita Mikhalkov, including At Home Among Strangers, a Stranger Among His Own, A Slave of Love, Unfinished Piece for the Player Piano, Close to Eden, Burnt by the Sun, The Barber of Siberia and 12.
