Alexandre Desplat, Roeban Katz, Guillermo del Toro & Patrick McHale were honored with their first award Annie Award in Feature category for their music from the Netflix film Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio at tonight’s 50th Annie Awards ceremony at UCLA’s Royce Hall. Fallout Shelter Recordings has released a soundtrack album for the HBO original documentary Tony Hawk: Until the Wheels Fall Off. The album features the film’s original score composed by Jeff Cardoni (Silicon Valley, Heels, The Kominsky Method, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Friends, CSI: Miami, Ghosts, Just Friends). Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the action comedy Cocaine Bear directed by Elizabeth Banks and starring Keri Russell, O’Shea Jackson, Jr., Christian Convery-Jennings, Alden Ehrenreich, Margo Martindale, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Brooklynn Prince and Ray Liotta. The film’s original music is composed by Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok, The LEGO Movie, The Royal Tenenbaums, Cloudy with a a Chance of Meatballs). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score and Pusha T’s White Lines remix today. Also opening nationwide is the faith-based drama Jesus Revolution directed by Jon Erwin & Brent McCorkle (I Can Only Imagine, Steve McQueen: American Icon) and starring Joel Courtney, Anna Grace Barlow, Jonathan Roumie, Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Kelsey Grammer. Omnivore Recordings will release a soundtrack album for the documentary What the Hell Happened to Blood, Sweat & Tears?. The album features ten previously unissued live recordings from the titular band’s 1970 Iron Curtain tour recorded in Yugoslavia, Romania and Poland. Executive producers Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner announced today that actress/singer Sofia Carson, accompanied by songwriter Diane Warren, will perform the Academy Award-nominated song Applause from the anthology film Tell It like a Woman at the 95th Oscar ceremony, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, on Sunday, March 12, 2023.
