Warner Bros. Records will release a soundtrack album for the zombie thriller World War Z. The album features the film’s original score composed by Marco Beltrami (Scream, 3:10 to Yuma, The Hurt Locker). The soundtrack will be released on June 18, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The album will also be released on Vinyl on July 16 (click here to pre-order). World War Z is directed by Marc Forster and stars Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, James Badge Dale and Matthew Fox. The film follows an official of the U.N. who is trying to get back to his family as he travels the globe looking for ways to stop the pandemic. The movie will be released nationwide on July 21 by Paramount Pictures.

Carter Burwell to Score Bill Condon’s ‘The Fifth Estate’
Carter Burwell is reuniting with director Bill Condon on the upcoming WikiLeaks drama The Fifth Estate. The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Julian Assange and Daniel Brühl as Daniel Domscheit-Berg, as well as Laura Linney, Anthony Mackie, David Thewlis, Peter Capaldi, Dan Stevens, Alicia Vikander and Carice van Houten. The movie chronicles the early days of WikiLeaks, culminating in the release of a series of controversial and history changing information leaks. Josh Singer (Fringe, The West Wing) wrote the screenplay based on Inside WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange at the World’s Most Dangerous Website by Daniel Domscheit-Berg and WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange’s War on Secrecy by David Leigh and Luke Harding.
Jerry Fielding’s ‘Beyond the Poseidon Adventure’ Soundtrack Released
Intrada Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1979 disaster movie Beyond the Poseidon Adventure directed by Irwin Allen and starring Michael Caine, Sally Field and Telly Savalas. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Jerry Fielding (The Wild Bunch, The Bad News Bears), including alternate cues. Michael Penn to Score Showtime’s ‘Masters of Sex’
Michael Penn has been hired to score the upcoming Showtime original series Masters of Sex. The show is created by Michelle Ashford (The Pacific) and stars Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan as real-life pioneers of the science of human sexuality, William Masters and Virginia Johnson. Caitlin Fitzgerald, Nicholas D’Agosto and Teddy Sears are co-starring and Beau Bridges and Margo Martindale also appear in the pilot. The series is an adaptation of Thomas Maier’s book Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, The Couple Who Taught America How To Love and chronicles Masters’ and Johnson’s unusual lives, romance and pop culture trajectory.
‘The Heat’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the buddy cop comedy The Heat. The album features the songs featured in the film by artists including LCD Soundsytem, Santigold, Kimbra, The Isley Brothers, Angel Haze, Parliament, Azealia Banks, Ted Nugent, Boston and Kreayshawn. The soundtrack will be released on June 25, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. The Heat is directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) and stars Sandra Bullock, Melissa McCarthy, Demian Bichir, Marlon Wayans and Michael Rapaport. The movie follows a high-strung FBI agent and an unconventional Boston cop who team up to take down a Russian gangster. The comedy will be released nationwide on June 28 by 20th Century Fox.
Nick Urata Scoring ABC’s ‘Back in the Game’ Pilot
Nick Urata has composed the score for the pilot of the upcoming ABC comedy Back in the Game. The show is created by Mark and Robb Cullen (Cop Out, Las Vegas) and stars Maggie Lawson, James Caan, Lenora Crichlow, Griffin Gluck, Ben Koldyke, Kennedy Waite, J.J. Totah and Cooper Roth. The series follows a single mother who temporarily moves in with her estranged father and reluctantly starts coaching her son’s underdog little league team and is drawn back into the world of sports she vowed to leave behind. John Requa and Glenn Ficarra have directed the pilot episode and are also executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television production with Mark & Robb Cullen and Aaron Kaplan (Terra Nova). Urata has previously worked with the directors on the features I Love You Phillip Morris and Crazy, Stupid, Love.

Premiering tonight is the HBO original movie Behind the Candelabra directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Michael Douglas, Matt Damon, Dan Aykroyd, Rob Lowe, Scott Bakula and Debbie Reynolds. Late composer Marvin Hamlisch (The Sting, The Way We Were) served as the executive music producer on the project. Elektra Records has released a soundtrack album featuring music adapted by Hamlisch, as well as several pieces by pianist Liberace, played in the film by Douglas. ‘The Great Beauty’ Soundtrack Details

EMI Music Italy has released a soundtrack album for the Italian comedy drama The Great Beauty (La Grande Bellezza). The album features selections from the film’s original score by Lele Marchitelli, as well as other music from the movie, including classical pieces by Kronos Quartet, John Tavener, Zbigniew Preisner, Georges Bizet and Henryk Gorecki. The 2-disc soundtrack is now available overseas. No word yet on a domestic release. The Great Beauty is co-written and directed by Paolo Sorrentino (This Must Be the Place, Il Divo) and stars Toni Servillo, Carlo Verdone, Sabrina Ferilli, Roberto Herlitzka and Isabella Ferrari. The film just premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this week and was also released in several European territories this week.
Alec Puro Scoring ABC Family’s ‘The Fosters’
Alec Puro is scoring the new ABC Family drama The Fosters. The show is created by Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige and stars Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, Jake T. Austin, Hayden Byerly, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell, Danny Nucci and Cierra Ramirez. The series follows a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids who are being raised by two moms. Jennifer Lopez serves as an executive producer alongside Bredeweg & Paige, as well as Joanna Johnson (Hope & Faith), Elaine Goldsmith Thomas (Maid in Manhattan, Mona Lisa Smile), Benny Medina and Greg Gugliotta. The Fosters is set to premiere on June 3, 2013 and will air every Monday night on ABC Family.
