The first trailer of the action comedy This Means War was released today and confirmed the involvement of composer Christophe Beck. The movie is directed by McG (Charlie’s Angels, Terminator: Salvation) and stars Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine, Tom Hardy, Angela Bassett and Til Schweiger. The film centers on two best friends and international spies who fall in love with the same woman and declare war on each other. Will Smith, Simon Kinberg (Mr. and Mrs. Smith), James Lassiter (I Am Legend), Robert Simonds (Cheaper by the Dozen) are producing alongside Witherspoon. Intrada Records has announced the world premiere release of the the score for the 1985 horror classic Fright Night. The album includes the original music composed by Brad Fiedel (Terminator, True Lies). To order the CD, visit Intrada’s online store, where you can also listen to lengthy audio clips from the album. Fright Night directed by Tom Holland starring Chris Sarandon, William Ragsdale and Roddy McDowall is available on DVD. ‘Intruders’ Soundtrack Announced

The soundtrack for the horror thriller Intruders will be released by Milan Records. The album features the original score by composer Roque Banos (The Machinist, Sexy Beast). The album is currently set to be released on January 9, 2012 in Europe. (UPDATE March 2012): The album will be released on March 27, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. EMI Music will be releasing a soundtrack album for the documentary Life in a Day. The album includes the score from the movie composed by Harry Gregson-Williams and Matthew Herbert. Metric have announced on their official website that they are teaming up with composer Howard Shore on the score for the drama Cosmopolis. As previously reported, Shore is scoring the movie directed by David Cronenberg and starring Robert Pattinson, Juliette Binoche, Paul Giamatti, Kevin Durand, Jay Baruchel and Samantha Morton. The film centers on a multimillionaire who risks his fortune to bet against the yen on a cataclysmic day. Metric have previously collaborated with Shore on The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, for which they co-wrote the end titles song Eclipse (All Yours). Cosmopolis has recently entered post-production and is expected to be released in 2012.

La-La Land Records has announced the world premiere release of the score for the 1983 comedy Trading Places. The album features the score by Elmer Bernstein, which incorporates Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro. The soundtrack is limited to 2000 copies and is available to order on La-La Land Records’ website, where you can also check out audio samples from the score. Trading Places directed by John Landis stars Dan Aykroyd, Eddie Murphy, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ralph Bellamy and Don Ameche. Bernstein has received the movie’s sole Academy Award nomination for his work on the comedy, which was also nominated for two Golden Globes for Best Comedy and Eddie Murphy’s lead performance. Hans Zimmer has teamed up with Dave Stewart, Ann Marie Coulhan and Sheila E. on Dreamworks Animation’s upcoming Madagascar 3. The artists have recently recorded music for the animated sequel in London. Eurythmics founder Dave Stewart has previously worked on a number of movies as a score composer and songwriter, including Robert Altman’s Cookie’s Fortune and the remake of Alfie, on which he worked together with Mick Jagger. Ann Marie Coulhain is an acclaimed violinist who recently collaborated with Stewart on recordings for the rock group SuperHeavy, which also includes film composer A.R. ‘The Muppets’ Soundtrack Details

Walt Disney Records (via Billboard) has announced the details of the soundtrack for the new movie adaptation of The Muppets. The album includes four orginal songs from the movie written by the film’s music supervisor Bret McKenzie (Flight of the Conchords) and performed by cast members Amy Adams, Jason Segel and Chris Cooper. Also featured on the album are cover versions Of Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit, Cee Lo Green’s Forget You and the Muppet classic Rainbow Connection performed by the Muppets. None of the original score by composer Christophe Beck is included. The soundtrack will be released on November 21, 2011 and can be pre-ordered on Amazon. Fox Music has released a soundtrack album for the indie thriller Martha Marcy May Marlene. The album features the original music from the movie written by Saunder Jurriaans and Daniel Bensi, as well as three songs from the film performed by Brad Corbet, Christopher Abbott and cast member John Hawkes. At the moment, the soundtrack is available exclusively as a digital release on iTunes. Martha Marcy May Marlene is written and directed by Sean Durkin and stars Elizabeth Olsen as a a young woman rapidly unraveling amidst her attempt to reclaim a normal life after fleeing from a cult and its charismatic leader. The album features the movie’s original score by Christopher Young, as well as four songs performed by lead actor Johnny Depp. Also included on the release are two songs by Dean Martin and Patti Smith.
