daveLa-La Land Records has released a new soundtrack release for the 1993 comedy drama Dave directed by Ivan Reitman and starring Kevin Kline, Sigourney Weaver and Frank Langella. The album features the expanded and remastered score from the Warner Bros. Pictures production composed by James Newton Howard (King Kong, The Sixth Sense, The Hunger Games), including about 30 minutes of previously unreleased music and a number of alternates. nick-urataNick Urata is scoring the upcoming indie teen comedy Premature. The film is directed by Dan Beers and stars John Karna as a teenager who is poised to finally lose his virginity, but when things go wrong, he inexplicably finds himself having to relive the same day over and over again until he gets it right. Katie Findlay, Alan Tudyk, Craig Roberts, Adam Riegler and Carlson Young are co-starring. Beers has co-written the screenplay with Mathew Harawitz. Aaron Ryder (The Prestige, The Raven) and Karen Lunder (Sleepover) are producing the FilmNation Entertainment production. hansel-and-gretelLa-La Land Records will release a soundtrack album for the fantasy action adventure Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters. The album features the film’s score composed by Atli Orvarsson (Vantage Point, The Eagle, The Fourth Kind). Hans Zimmer serves as the film’s executive music producer. The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 22, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. No word yet on a release date for a physical release. Audio clips are available after the jump. Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters is directed by Tommy Wirkola and stars Jeremy Renner, Gemma Arterton, Famke Janssen and Peter Stormare. The movie is set 15 years after Hansel and Gretel killed the witch who kidnapped them and follows the siblings who have now evolved into bounty hunters who pursue witches. The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua and stars Gerard Butler as a disgraced Secret Service agent who is called back to duty when the White House is taken over by terrorists. Angela Bassett, Robert Forster, Ashley Judd, Melissa Leo, Dylan McDermott, Cole Hauser and Radha Mitchell and Rick Yune are co-starring. Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt have written the screenplay and Fuqua is producing the Millennium Films production with Butler, Ed Cathell III (The Paperboy), Danny Lerner (The Expendables 2), Alan Siegel & Mark Gill (Law Abiding Citizen). US-GOLDEN GLOBES-TROPHYNBC has published the interviews from the press room of the 70th Golden Globe Awards. As previously reported, composer Mychael Danna was honored with the award for his music for Ang Lee’s 3D adventure movie Life of Pi. Following his acceptance speech (which can be checked out here), the composer answered questions to members of the international press backstage at the awards show. carriediariesPremiering tomorrow is The CW drama The Carrie Diaries based on based on the bestselling novel by Candace Bushnell and starring AnnaSophia Robb, Austin Butler, Ellen Wong, Katie Findlay, Stefania Owen, Brendan Dooling, Chloe Bridges, Freema Agyeman and Matt Letscher. The prequel to the HBO hit show Sex And The City is executive produced by Amy B. Harris, Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Len Goldstein, Candace Bushnell, Miguel Arteta who also directed the pilot episode. The show’s score is composed by Mark Mothersbaugh (21 Jump Street, Hotel Transylvania). The series will be airing every Monday night on The CW. The film is directed by Eduardo Sanchez (The Blair Witch Project) and follows a group of twenty-somethings who take a trip to a cabin deep in the wooded wilderness and are hunted by a Bigfoot-like beast. Sanchez has co-written the screenplay with Jamie Nash. Dora Madison Burge, Samuel Davis, Roger Edwards, Chris Osborn and Denise Williamson are starring in the movie, which is produced by Robin Cowie & Gregg Hale (The Blair Witch Project) and Andy Jenkins for Haxan Films and Jane Fleming & Mark Ordesky (The Frozen Ground) for Amber Entertainment. The project marks Fakhrara’s first collaboration with Sanchez. Mychael Danna has received his first Golden Globe Award for his score for Ang Lee’s Life of Pi. Chris Bacon to Score ‘Bates Motel’

batesmotelChris Bacon has been hired to score A&E Network’s upcoming TV series Bates Motel. The show is a contemporary prequel to Alfred Hitchcock’s classic movie Psycho and chronicles how Norman Bates’ psyche unravels through his teenage years. Freddie Highmore stars as Norman Bates and Vera Farmiga plays his mother Norma. Max Thieriot, Olivia Cooke, Nicola Peltz, Nestor Carbonell  and Mike Vogel are co-starring. Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Kerry Ehrin (Friday Night Lights) are executive producing the Universal Television production. Bates Motel is set to premiere on March 18, 2013 on A&E.
