Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the Netflix original series House of Cards. The album features selections from the score of the first season of the show composed by Jeff Beal (Rome, Appaloosa, Monk, Carnivale). The soundtrack will be released on April 2, 2013 and the 2-CD set is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips will be added to this article soon. House of Cards is developed by Beau Willimon and stars Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright, Kate Mara, Kristen Connolly, Corey Stoll and Constance Zimmer. Spacey is also executive producing the political drama with David Fincher (who directed the first episodes), Eric Roth (Forrest Gump) and Dana Brunetti. The complete first season of the show about an ambitious politician with his eye on the top job is now available to stream on Netflix for members and the pilot is also available to non-members. ‘Gladiator’ Live to Projection Concert Announced

The 21st Century Symphony Orchestra has announced a concert featuring the world premiere performance of the Academy Award-nominated original score for Ridley Scott’s epic historical drama Gladiator performed live to projection. Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard have composed the score for the Oscar-winning film starring Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix.The music will be performed by over 150 members of the 21st Century Symphony Orchestra and the 21st Century Choir under the baton of Ludwig Wicki. Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack album for the upcoming thriller The Call. The album features the film’s original music composed by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Iron Man 2, Elf). The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 12, 2013 and a physical version is set to be released on April 16. Audio clips will be added to this article within the next few weeks. The Call is directed by Brad Anderson (The Machinist) and stars Halle Berry as a 911 emergency operator who must face her own fears in order to save a teenage girl from a disturbed killer. Patrick Cassidy is currently recording his score for the Calvary. The film is written and directed by John Michael McDonagh and stars Brendan Gleeson, Kelly Reilly, David Wilmo, Chris O’Dowd, Domhnall Gleeson and Aidan Gillen. The movie follows a priest who is being tormented by his community and is told in the confessional that somebody is going to kill him within a week. The Reprisal Films production is produced by Chris Clark (Johnny English Reborn), Flora Fernandez-Marengo (The Guard) and Elizabeth Eves. The film marks McDonagh’s second directorial effort following 2011’s Brendan Gleeson-starring The Guard, which featured a score by Calexico. ERPB has released a soundtrack album for the romantic thriller Upstream Color. The album features the film’s original music composed by Shane Carruth who has also written, produced and directed the movie. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. Ryan Shore has composed the score for the concert documentary Mindless Behavior: All Around the World. The film is directed by Steven Goldfried and centers on the hit teen R&B/hip-hop boy band Mindless Behavior. The movie follows the band’s members Roc Royal, Ray Ray, Princeton and Prodigy as they travel across the US on their first major headlining tour. Brian Robbins (Varsity Blues, Smallville), Joe Davola and Walter M. Millsap III are producing the project. The Grammy-nominated composer, whose previous credits include such films as Prime, Harvard Man, Numb and the recent video game Spy Hunter, has written a multi-styled score ranging from hip hop, R&B and pop music, to orchestra, guitar and solo piano based emotional scoring for Mindless Behavior: All Around the World. Marcelo Zarvos is currently scoring the upcoming Showtime original series Ray Donovan. The drama is created by Ann Biderman (Southland, Primal Fear) and stars Liev Schreiber in the title role as a go-to guy who makes the problems of LA’s celebrities, superstar athletes, and business moguls disappear and experiences his own problems when his father, played by Jon Voight, is unexpectedly released from prison. Paula Malcomson, Eddie Marsan, Katherine Moennig, Dash Mihok, Kerris Dorsey, Pooch Hall, Steven Bauer and Devon Bagby are co-starring. Biderman is executive producing the show with Mark Gordon (Source Code, Grey’s Anatomy) and Bryan Zuriff (The Details). Allen Coulter has directed the pilot episode. L’R Du Trésor and Because Music have released a soundtrack album for the romantic thriller Möbius. The album features the film’s score composed by Jonathan Morali who is best known as the frontman of the French band Syd Matters and made his film scoring debut on the project. Also included are two electronic tracks by Olga Kouklaki and Bot’Ox. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out after the jump. Möbius is written and directed by Eric Rochant and stars Jean Dujardin, Cecile de France, Tim Roth and John Lynch. The movie follows an experienced spy who is tracking a powerful oligarch suspected of laundering money through his bank. The thriller will be released in France later this week.
