Junkie XL is currently scoring the upcoming thriller Paranoia. The film is directed by Robert Luketic and stars Liam Hemsworth, Gary Oldman, Harrison Ford, Amber Heard, Josh Holloway, Embeth Davitz, Richard Dreyfuss, Julian McMahon and Lucas Till. The movie follows a lower-middle-class kid trying to do better for his dad by getting involved in the world of corporate espionage between two rival companies. Jason Dean Hall (Spread) and Barry Levy (Vantage Point) co-wrote the screenplay. Columbia Records will release the official soundtrack album for the indie comedy The Way, Way Back. The album features the songs from the film by artists including Edie Brickell, INXS, Ben Kweller, UFO, Robert Palmer, Mr. Mister, Young Galaxy, Army Navy, Wild Belle, Tim Myers, Eli “Paperboy” Reed and The Apache Relay. Also featured is a track from the movie’s original score composed by Rob Simonsen (500 Days of Summer, All Good Things). The soundtrack will be released on July 2, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Way, Way Back is directed by Jim Rash and Nat Faxon (writers of The Descendants) and stars Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Allison Janney, AnnaSophia Robb, Sam Rockwell, Maya Rudolph, Amanda Peet, Rob Corddry and Liam James. The movie about a teen boy who struggles to find himself as he comes to terms with his unattentive mother and cheating stepfather during summer vacation premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival where it was acquired by Fox Searchlight for a theatrical release on July 5. Varese Sarabande to Present Music from the Star Wars Universe Concert

Varèse Sarabande Records continues their 35th anniversary celebration with a special tribute performance by the Golden State Pops Orchestra (GSPO) celebrating the Star Wars legacy on June 15, 2013. The Music from the Star Wars Universe concert will feature musical selections from various Star Wars projects including the classic scores composed by John Williams, including Star Wars: Main Title, Imperial March, Princess Leia’s Theme, and Across the Stars from Attack of the Clones. In addition, Varèse will celebrate Joel McNeely‘s release for his score to Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, which will also be performed. Also featured will be music from Star Wars video games, spin-off films and fan films. ‘Copperhead’ Soundtrack Details

Varese Sarabande Records has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the historical drama Copperhead. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Laurent Eyquem (Winnie) who recorded his orchestral score at the Eastwood Scoring Stage at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank. The soundtrack will be released physically on July 9, 2013. Audio clips can be checked out after the jump. Copperhead is directed by Ron Maxwell (Gettysburg, Gods and Generals) and stars Billy Campbell, Angus MacFadyen and Peter Fonda. The movie is set during the Civil War and follows a stubborn and righteous farmer of Upstate New York, who defies his neighbors and his government in the bloody and contentious autumn of 1862. Bellwether Records will release the official soundtrack album for the new film adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. The album features the film’s original score composed by Joss Whedon who has also written, directed and produced the movie. Film composer Deborah Lurie (Dear John, 9, An Unfinished Life) served as the score’s producer. The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 6, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. W.G. Snuggy Walden is currently scoring the CBS summer series Under the Dome. The show is an adaptation of Stephen King’s bestselling novel and is produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and DreamWorks Television. The limited 13-episodes series is set in Chester’s Mill, a small New England town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The show’s cast includes Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Colin Ford, Natalie Martinez, Alexander Koch, Britt Robertson, Nicholas Strong, Jolene Purdy, Aisha Hinds and Dean Norris. Spielberg is executive producing the project with King, Neil Baer (ER, A Gifted Man), Brian K. Sony Classical will release the soundtrack album for Carlo Carlei’s upcoming film adaptation of Romeo & Juliet. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Academy Award-winning composer James Horner. According to Amazon.co.uk, the soundtrack will be released in the UK on July 22, 2013. Check back on this page for the full album details. Romeo & Juliet based on Shakepeare’s play and adapted for the screen by Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park) stars Douglas Booth and Hailee Steinfeld in the title roles. Jenny Lewis and Johnathan Rice to Score ‘Song One’

According to The Hollywood Reporter/Billboard, Jenny Lewis and Johnathan Rice are set to score the upcoming musical drama Song One. The movie stars Anne Hathaway, Mary Steenburgen and British folk artist Johnny Flynn and follows a young woman who develops a relationship with her comatose brother’s favorite indie rock star. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Kate Barker-Froyland who also wrote the screenplay. Christopher Woodrow (The Immigrant, Blood Ties) and Molly Conners are producing the project alongside Hathaway, Marc Platt (Drive, Wanted, Legally Blonde), Jonathan Demme (The Silence of the Lambs) and Adam Shulman. Paramount Music and La-La Land Records will release a soundtrack album for the mini-series Into the West. The album features the Emmy Award-winning score composed by Geoff Zanelli (Disturbia, The Odd Life of Timothy Green). Paramount Music will distribute the digital version of the soundtrack, with La-La Land Records handling the physical release. The 2-disc album will be released on June 18, 2013. Into the West produced by DreamWorks Television and Steven Spielberg chronicles the struggles, heartache and conquests of two families in 19th century America.
