wayward-pinesDave Porter has been hired to score the upcoming event series Wayward Pines. The show is created by Chad Hodge (The Playboy Club, Runaway) and stars Matt Dillon, Shannyn Sossamon, Terrence Howard, Carla Gugino, Juliette Lewis, Toby Jones and Melissa Leo. The series follows a Secret Service agent Ethan Burke who arrives in the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, Idaho, on a mission to find two missing federal agents. M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Signs) is directing the pilot episode and is also executive producing the project with Hodge, Donald De Line (The Italian Job, Green Lantern) and Ashwin Rajan. The World Soundtrack Academy has announced the nominees for the 2013 World Soundtrack Awards to be presented in three categories: Film Composer of the Year, Best Original Score of the Year and Best Original Song Written Directly for a Film. The winners will be announced at the World Soundtrack Awards & concert on Saturday, October 19, the closing night of the Ghent International Film Festival. Here are the nominations:

adoreVarese Sarabande has revealed the details of the soundtrack album for the drama Adore. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Christopher Gordon (Master and Commander, Daybreakers). Also included is additional music by Antony Partos (Animal Kingdom). Adore is directed by Anne Fontaine (Coco Before Chanel) and stars Naomi Watts and Robin Wright as two lifelong friends whose deep friendship is tested when they engage in affairs with each other’s sons. Caruso who previously worked with Tyler on Eagle Eye and stars Chandler Canterbury, Annalise Basso, Radha Mitchell and Val Kilmer. The movie is directed by John Wells (The Company Men) and features and all-star cast including Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Chris Cooper, Margo Martindale, Juliette Lewis, Abigail Breslin, Ewan McGregor, Julianne Nicholson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Dermot Mulroney, Misty Upham and Sam Shepard. The film is based on the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning play by Tracy Letts (Bug, Killer Joe) and follows the strong-willed women of the Weston family, whose lives have diverged until a family crisis brings them back to the Midwest house they grew up in. Letts has also written the screenplay. Harvey Weinstein and Jean Doumanian (Sweet and Lowdown) are producing the film with George Clooney & Grant Heslov (Argo, Good Night, and Good Luck). ‘Filth’ Soundtrack Details

filthIsland Records will release a soundtrack album for the British comedic thriller Filth. The album features three tracks from the film’s original score composed by Clint Mansell (Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream, Moon). Also included are the film’s songs by artists including Billy Ocean, The Shirelles, Tom Jones, Otis Blackwell, David Soul, Wilson Pickett, The Third Degree and Clarence Carter. The soundtrack will be released overseas on September 23, 2013. Filth is written and directed by Jon S. Baird (Green Street Hooligans) and stars James McAvoy, Jamie Bell, Jim Broadbent, Eddie Marsan, Imogen Poots and Joanne Frogatt. The movie is based on a novel by Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh and follows an Edinburgh police detective who is manipulating everyone who stands in his way of securing a job promotion and winning back his family and daughter. under-the-skinMica Levi has composed the music for Jonathan Glazer’s upcoming sci-fi thriller Under the Skin. The film is based on a novel by Michael Faber (The Crimson Petal and the White) and stars Scarlett Johannson as an alien disguised as a mesmerizing woman who scours remote highways and backroads for human prey. Glazer has co-written the screenplay with Walter Campbell and James Wilson (Attack the Block) and Nick Wechsler (Magic Mike, The Player, The Road) are producing the project. The thriller marks the film scoring debut of Levi aka Micachu who is best known for her experimental pop music band Micachu and the Shapes. Austenland is written and directed by Jerusha Hess and stars Keri Russell, JJ Feild, Bret McKenzie, Jennifer Coolidge, James Callis, Georgia King, Rupert Vansittart, Ricky Whittle and Jane Seymour. The movie follows a single woman in her 30′s obsessed with Mr. Darcy of the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice who decides to spend her life savings on a trip to a Jane Austen-themed resort in England.
