The film follows a pair of teen who form an unlikely alliance with vampires and zombies in order to take on an alien arm. superman-the-animated-seriesLa-La Land Records has announced a 4-CD soundtrack set for the Warner Bros. Television animated show Superman: The Animated Series. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Kristopher Carter, Harvey R. Cohen, Michael McCuistion and Lolita Ritmanis, as well as Shirley Walker who composed the series’ main titles theme. The 4-CD set is limited to 3000 copies and is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the full album details and listen to audio clips. legend-of-longwoodPatrick Neil Doyle is set to score the upcoming 3D fantasy adventure The Legend of Longwood. The film is directed by Lisa Mulcahy (The Clinic) and stars Lucy Morton, Lorcan Bonner, Lorcan Cranitch, Thekla Reuten, Fiona Glascott, Sean Mahon and Miriam Margolyes. The movie follows a 12-year-old girl who is destined to break a 300 year-old spell cast on a small Irish town and its inhabitants and must redeem a mysterious Black Knight and save a precious herd of horses from a ruthless woman with evil plans. oscars3On Tuesday night, the Academy’s Board of Governors voted to rescind the Original Song nomination for Alone Yet Not Alone, featuring music by Bruce Broughton and lyric by Dennis Spiegel. The decision was prompted by the discovery that Broughton, a former Governor and current Music Branch executive committee member, had emailed members of the branch to make them aware of his submission during the nominations voting period. Richard Marvin is providing the score for the show, which will explore the effects of climate change in different parts of the world. The environmental docu-series will feature appearances by Matt Damon, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford, Jessica Alba, Don Cheadle, America Ferrera, Michael C. Hall, Olivia Munn, Chris Hayes, Dr. M. Sanjayan and Ian Somerhalder. ‘Cuban Fury’ Soundtrack Details

cuban-furyDecca Records will release a soundtrack album for the British romantic comedy Cuban Fury. The album features the Latin jazz and salsa music from the film by artists including Tito Puente, Sunlightsquare, Marc Anthony, Oscar D’Leon and more. Also included are two tracks from the movie’s original score composed by Daniel Pemberton (The CounselorThe Awakening). The soundtrack will be released in the UK on February 17, 2014. Cuban Fury is directed by James Griffiths and stars Nick Frost, Chris O’Dowd, Olivia Colman, Rashida Jones, Ian McShane, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Rory Kinnear, and Alexandra Roach. Mac Quayle Scoring ‘Frank & Cindy’

mac-quayleMac Quayle is composing the score for the upcoming indie comedy Frank & Cindy. The film is directed by G.J. Echternkamp and stars Oliver Platt, Rene Russo, Jane Levy, Marc Maron and Johnny Simmons. The movie is based on Echternkamp’s 2007 documentary of the same title and tells the true story of Frank Garcia, bassist of early 1980s one-hit wonder band OXO, and his wife Cindy Brown. The director has also written the screenplay with Alex Holdridge (In Search of a Midnight Kiss). Actor Scoot McNairy (ArgoKilling Them Softly) is producing the project with John Pierce (Straight A’s), Bill Perkins (UnthinkableAfter.Life) and Bic Tran. Frank & Cindy is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere later this year. The album features selections from the score of the first season of the show composed by Jesper Kyd (Assassin’s CreedHitman, Borderlands). John Cacavas (1930 – 2014)

john-cacavasJohn Cacavas has passed away at age 83. The composer has scored numerous TV shows/movies and feature films throughout his career, including episodes of such classic shows as Colombo, Kojak, Hawaii Five-O, Murder, She Wrote, The Bionic Woman, Matlock, Quincy and The Equalizer. He was honored with two Emmy nominations for an episode of Kojak in 1976, as well as an episode of Eischied in 1979. His best known feature credits include two films in the Airport series: Airport 1975 starring Charlton Heston and Airport ’77 starring Jack Lemmon & James Stewart, as well as the 1972 horror film Horror Express starring Christopher Lee & Peter Cushing. Cacavas was also active as a guest conductor and has appeared with the London Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Orchestra of London, The Atlanta Symphony and Radio City Music Hall Orchestra among other orchestras. ‘Endless Love’ Soundtrack Announced

endless-loveWarner Bros. Records will release a soundtrack album for the romantic drama Endless Love. The album features the songs from the film, including the original track Don’t Find Another Love performed by Tegan and Sara. Other artists featured on the soundtrack include NONONO, The Bird and The Bee featuring Matt Berninger, Echosmith, Franz Ferdinand and Tanlines. Also featured is a suite from the movie’s original score composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, The Muppets, Buffy the Vampire Slayer). The soundtrack will be released on February 11, 2014.
