Christophe Beck has composed the music for the upcoming drama Cake. The film is directed by Daniel Barnz and stars Jennifer Aniston, Anna Kendrick, William H. Macy, Adriana Barraza, Felicity Huffman, Sam Worthington, Chris Messina and Mamie Gummer. The movie follows a woman in a chronic-pain support group who begins to investigate the suicide of a fellow group member and develops an unexpected relationship with the woman’s husband. Patrick Tobin has written the screenplay. Ben Barnz, Mark Canton, Kristin Hahn, Courtney Solomon are producing the Cinelou Films production. ‘Trust Me’ Soundtrack Details

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for Clark Gregg’s indie comedy Trust Me. The album features the film’s original music composed by Mark Kilian (Tsotsi, Pitch Perfect, Rendition, Traitor). The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 26, 2014. A CD version will come out on October 7 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Trust Me is written and directed by Gregg who also stars in the film alongside Felicity Huffman, Allison Janney, William H. Macy, Amanda Peet, Sam Rockwell, Molly Shannon, Niecy Nash, Saxon Sharbino and Paul Sparks. The movie follows a loser talent agent who is determined to achieve Hollywood success with a 13-year-old star he has discovered. Ludovico Einaudi to Score Olivier Nakache’s & Eric Toledano’s ‘Samba’

Ludovico Einaudi is reteaming with directors Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano on the upcoming French drama Samba. The film stars Omar Sy, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Tahar Rahim and Izia Higelin. The movie follows a recent migrant to France who fights to stay in his adopted country with the help of a rookie immigration worker. Nackache & Toleedano have also written the screenplay. Yann Zenou, Laurent Zeitoun & Nicolas Duval-Adassovsky (Heartbreaker, A Perfect Plan) are producing the Quad Films, Ten Films and Gaumont production. Einaudi has previously scored the filmmakers’ previous feature The Intouchables, which became one of the all time highest-grossing movies in France in 2011. Samba is set to world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September.

The World Soundtrack Academy has announced the nominees for the 2013 World Soundtrack Awards to be presented in three categories: Film Composer of the Year, Best Original Score of the Year and Best Original Song Written Directly for a Film. The winners will be announced at the World Soundtrack Awards & concert on Saturday, October 19, the closing night of the Ghent International Film Festival. Here are the nominations:
