Marco Beltrami has signed on to score the upcoming reboot of The Fantastic Four. The film is directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle) and stars Miles Teller as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara as Susan Storm/Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm/Human Torch and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm/The Thing. Toby Kebbell will be portraying Victor Domashev/Doom. Reg E. Cathey and Tim Blake Nelson are also co-starring. The movie based on the Marvel Comics series centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways and who must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy. WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack album for the sci-fi fantasy movie Jupiter Ascending. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael Giacchino (Star Trek, Lost, Up, Ratatouille, The Incredibles). The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 3, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The album will also be released as a 2-CD set overseas and is available as an import here. Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1984 sci-fi classic The Last Starfighter directed by Nick Castle and starring Lance Guest, Dan O’Herlihy, Robert Preston and Catherine Mary Stewart. The album features the complete score from the film composed and conducted by Craig Safan (Cheers, Stand and Deliver, A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master), including previously unreleased music. George Fenton Scoring Andy Tennant’s ‘Wild Oats’

George Fenton is reuniting with director Andy Tennant to score the upcoming comedy drama Wild Oats. The film stars Shirley MacLaine, Jessica Lange, Demi Moore, Judd Hirsch, Matt Walsh and Billy Connolly. The movie follows a woman who receives an unexpected windfall check from a computer glitch and goes on the run from the law. Claudia Myers (Fort Bliss) and Gary Kanew have written the screenplay. Blythe Frank (Kettle of Fish) is producing the project for Wild Pictures, alongside Kip Konwiser for the Konwiser Brothers. Fenton and Tennant have previously collaborated on such films as Ever After: A Cinderella Story, Anna and the King, Sweet Home Alabama, Hitch, Fool’s Gold and The Bounty Hunter. Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the action adventure sequel The Scorpion King 4: Quest for Power. The album features the film’s original music composed by Geoff Zanelli (Disturbia, Hitman, Mortdecai, The Odd Life of Timothy Green). The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 13, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Gabrielsson, Peter Gantzler, Joseph Millson, Alexandre Willaume, Rune Temte and Henning Valin Jakobsen. The 8-parter based on Bernard Cornwell’s best-selling novels The Saxon Stories is set during the reign of Alfred the Great, who as King of Wessex fought off a Viking invasion and follows the son of a Saxon nobleman who is orphaned by the Vikings and then kidnapped and raised as one of their own. The movie follows Cobain’s life and his career with Nirvana through the lens of his home movies, recordings, artwork, photography, and journals.
