Clinton Shorter has been hired to score the upcoming Syfy event series The Expanse. The show is created by Academy Award-winning writers Mark Fergus & Hawk Ostby (Children of Men, Iron Man) based on the New York Times bestselling series of novels of the same title and stars Thomas Jane, Steven Strait, Shohreh Aghdashlo, Florence Faivre, Jay Hernandez, Cas Anvar, Dominique Tipper, Wes Chatham and Paulo Costanzo. The series is set two hundred years in the future, after mankind has colonized the solar system and follows a hardened detective and a rogue ship’s captain who come together for what starts as the case of a missing woman and evolves into a race across the solar system to expose the greatest conspiracy in human history. Antonio Pinto has composed the original score for the upcoming documentary Amy. The film is directed by Asif Kapadia (The Warrior, Far North, The Return) and chronicles British singer Amy Winehouse’s rise to fame with such hits like Rehab and Valerie before her untimely death at age 27 of alcohol poisoning. The movie features unseen archival footage and unheard tracks by Winehouse. James Gay-Rees (Exit Through the Gift Shop, The Quiet Ones) is producing the project for On The Corner Films. ‘Jerusalem’ Soundtrack Details

John Debney’s ‘Pasión Oratorio’ Performed at Mosque Cathedral of Córdoba

Last month, La Pasión Oratorio, inspired by the Oscar-nominated score for The Passion of the Christ composed by John Debney was performed at the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba in Spain as part of Holy Week. 6,000 people attended the concert, which was conducted by Kevin Kaska and performed by Córdoba Orchestra and Choir Ziryab along with performers from the film’s score, including woodwind player Pedro Eustache and vocalist and soloist Lisbeth Scott. The event, which was created through the collaboration between the Diputación of Córdoba through its Department of Culture and the Film Music Festival brand, was the first orchestral concert at the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba in over 40 years. Woman in Gold follows an elderly Jewish woman who fled Vienna during WWII and, sixty years later, starts her journey to retrieve family possessions seized by the Nazis, among them Klimt’s painting “The Lady in Gold”.
