Varese Sarabande has announced the latest releases in their CD Club series. Among the titles is a deluxe edition soundtrack for the 1990 sequel Gremlins 2: The New Batch directed by Joe Dante and starring Zach Galligan and Phoebe Cates. The album features the expanded original score from the movie composed by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Alien, Chinatown, Planet of the Apes, The Omen), including previously unreleased music. Universal Music has released a soundtrack album for the NBC drama Aquarius. The album features the songs from the show by artists including The Who, Charles Manson, Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone, Wayne Newton, Dyke and the Blazers & more. Also included is a track from the series’ original score composed by W.G. Snuffy Walden (The West Wing, Friday Night Lights, Under the Dome). The soundtrack is now available on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Aquarius is created by John McNamara and stars David Duchovny, Gethin Anthony, Grey Damon, Emma Dumont and Claire Holt. David Robbins (Dead Man Walking, Welcome to Me, Bob Roberts) has composed the show’s original music. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the documentary Cartel Land. The album features the film’s original music composed by H. Scott Salinas (The Square, Allegiance, Murder in the First) and Jackson Greenberg. The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 30, 2015 and physically on September 18. Cartel Land is directed by Matthew Heineman and centers on the battle between border vigilante groups and murderous Mexican drug cartels, with the vigilantes able to accomplish things law enforcement cannot.
