Warner Bros. Records has released a soundtrack album for the animated feature Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, 1408, Cold Mountain). Cellist Yo-Yo Ma is featured as a soloist. Also included are the original songs Hypnosis and On Children by Damien Rice, as well as On Love by Lisa Hannigan & Glen Hansard. The soundtrack is now available digitally on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. National Geographic Channel announced at a panel yesterday at the Television Critics Association summer tour that Hans Zimmer will be composing the main theme for network’s upcoming event series Saints & Strangers. The score will be composed by Bleeding Fingers Music, a collaboration between Zimmer and Extreme Music. Saints & Strangers is created by Eric Overmyer (Bosch, Treme, The Affair) and tells the story behind the founding of America, chronicling the trials and tribulations of the 101 men, women and children who boarded the Mayflower for a one-way trip to the New World in 1620. Bear McCreary has been tapped to score the upcoming A&E original series Damien. The show is created by Glen Mazzaro and stars Bradley James, Barbara Hershey, Omid Abtahi and Meganlyn Echikunwoke. The drama is a follow-up to the classic 1976 feature The Omen and centers on Damien Thorn, the mysterious child from the film who has grown up seemingly unaware of the satanic forces around him and must now come to terms with his true destiny — that he is the Antichrist. The full details of the soundtrack album for the crime thriller Sicario have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music written by Oscar-nominated composer Johann Johannsson (The Theory of Everything) who previously scored the movie’s director Denis Villeneuve’s Prisoners. Stephen Rennicks Scoring Lenny Abrahamson’s ‘Room’

Stephen Rennicks is reteaming with director Lenny Abrahamson to score the upcoming drama Room. The movie stars Brie Larson, Jacob Tremblay, Joan Allen, William H. Macy, Sean Bridgers, Tom McCamus and Megan Park. The film is based on the bestselling 2010 novel by Emma Donoghue and is told from the viewpoint of a 5-year-old boy who is being held captive with his mother in a small room. Donoghue has also written the screenplay. Ed Guiney (The Guard, Shadow Dancer) is producing the Element Pictures and No Trace Camping production with David Gross (Goon, What If). Rennicks has previously scored Abrahamson’s previous features, including last year’s Frank starring Michael Fassbender, as well as What Richard Did, Garage and Adam & Paul. Room is set to premiere in September at the Toronto International Film Festival and will be released on October 16, 2015 by A24 Films
