The album features two score suites composed by Nathan Larson (Boys Don’t Cry, Show Me a Hero, Margin Call, The Skeleton Twins). Also included are previously unreleased tracks from Lurd Huron & Blake Mills, as well as four tracks from Lord Huron’s 2012 debut, Lonesome Dreams and songs by Dwight Yoakum, Great Lake Swimmers and Shovels & Rope. The soundtrack will be released on September 25, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A Walk in the Woods is directed by Ken Kwapis and stars Robert Redford, Nick Nolte, Nick Offerman, Kristen Schaal, Mary Steenburgen and Emma Thompson. ‘Umrika’ Soundtrack Released

umrikaSplinter Records has released a soundtrack album for the drama Umrika. The album features the film’s original music written by Emmy Award-nominated composer Dustin O’Halloran (Transparent, Like Crazy, Breathe In, Equals). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Umrika is written and directed by Prashant Nai and stars Suraj Sharma, Tony Revolori, Smita Tambe, Adil Hussain, Rajesh Tailang and Prateik Babbar. The movie follows a young village boy who discovers that his brother, long believed to be in America, has actually gone missing, and begins to invent letters on his behalf to save their mother from heartbreak. undergroundLaura Karpman has been tapped to score the upcoming WGN America original series Underground. The show is created and written by Misha Green & Joe Pokaski and stars Christopher Meloni, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Aldis Hodge, Jessica de Gouw, Alano Miller, Adina Porter, Amirah Vann, Marc Blucas, Mykelti Williamson, Reed Diamond and Johnny Ray Gill. The drama follows a group of slaves who aim to travel 600 miles to escape from a Georgia plantation. Green and Pokaski are also executive producing the project with Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind, I Am Legend), Tory Tunnell & Joby Harold (Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur), as well as Anthony Hemingway (The Wire, Treme) who is also directing the first two episodes. last-boy-scoutLa-La Land Records has announced the world premiere release of the score for Warner Bros. Pictures’ 1991 action thriller The Last Boy Scout directed by Tony Scott, produced by Joel Silver and starring Bruce Willis, Damon Wayans and Danielle Harris. The film’s original music is composed and conducted by Michael Kamen (Robin Hood: Prince of ThievesX-Men, The Iron GiantBrazil) who previously scored the Silver-produced first installments of the Die Hard and Lethal Weapon franchises. The album, which also features a couple of unused, extended and alternate cues, is limited to 3000 copies. alicia-keysAlica Keys has recorded an original song for Davis Guggenheim’s upcoming documentary He Named Me Malala. The song is entitled Story to Tell and is performed by the Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter and produced by Rick Rubin. The track will be included on the official soundtrack album for the film, which also features the movie’s original score by Thomas Newman and will be released on October 2, 2015 by Sony Classical.
