The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited 683 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures to join the organization. David Campbell Scoring ‘In Search of Fellini’

David Campbell has been tapped to compose the music for the upcoming coming-of-age drama In Search of Fellini. The film is directed by Taron Lexton and stars Ksenia Solo, Maria Bello and Mary Lynn Rajskub. The movie follows an Ohio girl who loves movies but dislikes reality who journeys to Italy in search of legendary Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini. Nancy Cartwright (best known as the voice of Bart Simpsons of The Simpsons) and Peter Kjenaas have written the screenplay. Jerry Goldsmith to Receive Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced today that Jerry Goldsmith is among the class of 2017 honorees and was selected to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The composer who passed away in 2004 has received an Academy Award for The Omen and was Oscar-nominated several more times for such classic films as Planet of the Apes, Patton Chinatown, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Poltergeist, Basic Instinct and L.A. ‘Hillsong: Let Hope Rise’ Soundtrack Details

A soundtrack album will be released for the documentary Hillsong: Let Hope Rise. The album features the songs as featured in the film by the Christian band, Hillsong United, including such titles as Oceans, Hosanna, Shout To The Lord and Mighty To Save. The soundtrack will be released on August 12, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Hillsong: Let Hope Rise is directed by Michael John Warren and follows the Australia-based band as they labor to record their next album and explores the history of Hillsong, a 30-year journey from a tiny church in the Sydney suburbs to a vibrant international ministry. The film is directed by John Pogue (The Quiet Ones, screenwriter of The Skulls & U.S. Marshals) and stars Trey Songz and WWE star R-Truth. The movie follows a recently released convict who begins to take murderous revenge against his childhood friends, whom he believes let him take the fall for a crime they collectively committed. Malaco Records will release a soundtrack album for the OWN original series Greenleaf. The album features the songs from the show performed by the drama’s cast, as well as tracks by Mavis Staples, Shirley Caesar, McCrary Sisters, Melinda Doolittle and Nicole Mullen. The soundtrack will be released on August 26, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Greenleaf is created by Craig Wright and stars Merle Dandridge, Lynn Whitfield, Keith David, Lamman Rucker, Tye White, Kim Hawthorne, Gregory Alan Williams, Deborah Joy Winans and Oprah Winfrey. Siddhartha Khosla has been tapped to score the upcoming NBC comedy drama This Is Us. The show is created by Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love, Bolt, Cars, Danny Collins, Galavant) and stars Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia and Sterling K. Brown. The series centers around a group of people born on the same day, including a married couple expecting triplets in Pittsburgh and a television actor growing bored of his fly bachelor lifestyle. Fogelman is also executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television production with Jess Rosenthal, Charlie Gogolak, as well as John Requa & Glenn Ficarra (Crazy, Stupid, Love, Focus, I Love You Phillip Morris) who also directed the pilot episode. James Horner’s Complete ‘The Rocketeer’ Soundtrack to Be Released

Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1991 period superhero movie The Rocketeer directed by Joe Johnston and starring Bill Campbell, Alan Arkin, Jennifer Connelly, Paul Sorvino and Timothy Dalton. The album features the expanded score from the Walt Disney Pictures production composed and conducted by James Horner (Titanic, Avatar, The Amazing Spider-Man, Aliens, A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13), including more than 20 minutes of previously unreleased music. The 2-CD set features both the composer’s complete score, as well as the content from the 1991 original soundtrack album. Johnny Klimek is set to reteam with director Greg McLean on the upcoming psychological thriller Jungle. The film stars Daniel Radcliffe as a young adventurer who travels into the Amazon with two friends and a guide in what turns out to be a dangerous and deadly expedition. Thomas Kretschmann, Alex Russell, Joel Jackson and Yasmin Kassim are co-starring. Justin Monjo has written the screenplay based on Yossi Ghinsberg’s memoir about his trip into the Amazon. Rihanna’s ‘Sledgehammer’ from ‘Star Trek Beyond’ Released

Roc Nation Records has released the original song Sledgehammer from the upcoming sci-fi adventure Star Trek Beyond. The track is performed by Rihanna who previously contributed songs to DreamWorks Animation’s Home. Sledgehammer is now available to download as a single on Amazon. Listen to the track, which is also featured in the film’s latest trailer, after the jump. As previously reported, Varese Sarabande will release the movie’s official soundtrack album featuring the score by Michael Giacchino.
