Todor Kobakov is currently recording his score for the upcoming thriller Backstabbing for Beginners. The film is directed by Per Fly (The Inheritance, Monica Z) and stars Theo James, Ben Kingsley and Jacqueline Bisset. The movie follows a young idealist who lands his dream job as a program coordinator for the U.N.’s Oil for Food program and is thrown into a post-war Iraq where government agents and power-hungry nations are circling the country’s oil reserves. Rhino Records will release a soundtrack album for Jim Jarmusch’s documentary Gimme Danger. The album features fourteen songs by The Stooges that focus on the group’s first three studio albums – The Stooges, Fun House, and Iggy and The Stooges’ Raw Power — and feature band members Iggy Pop, Ron and Scott Asheton, Dave Alexander and James Williamson. Mandy Hoffman is reteaming with director Azazel Jacobs on the upcoming indie comedy The Lovers. The film is written and directed by Jacobs and stars Debra Winger, Tracy Letts, Aidan Gillen, Melora Walters, Tyler Ross and Jessica Sula. The movie follows a long-married couple whose romantic spark dwindles in the midst of their respective affair. However, when they sit down to call it quits, they find themselves suddenly and unexpectedly falling back in love again. Frank Ilfman has signed on to score the upcoming supernatural thriller Ghost Stories. The film is written and directed by Jeremy Dyson (The League of Gentlemen) & actor Andy Nyman and stars Martin Freeman, Paul Whitehouse, Alex Lawther and Amy Doyle. The movie follows an arch sceptic professor who embarks upon a terror filled quest, when he stumbles across a long lost file containing details of three cases of inexplicable ‘hauntings’. Claire Jones (Kill List, Sightseers) and Robin Gutch (Hunger, ’71) are producing the project. Ilfman will be recording his score with the London Metropolitan Orchestra in March.
