guerillaPremiering tonight is the Showtime original mini-series Guerrilla created John Ridley and starring Idris Elba, Frieda Pinto, Babou Ceesay, Rory Kinnear, Nathaniel Martello-White, Daniel Mays, Denise Gough, Brandon Scott, Zawe Ashton and Nicholas Pinnock. The 6-parter’s original music is composed by Max Richter (The Leftovers, Waltz with Bashir, Taboo, Miss Sloane, Disconnect). The show, which is set in London in the 1970s and revolves around a politically active couple, will air Sunday nights on Showtime. Visit our previous news article to learn more about the series.

white-princessAlso premiering tonight is The White Queen sequel The White Princess based on the novel by Philippa Gregory and starring Jodie Comer, Jacob Collins-Levy, Michelle Fairley, Essie Davis, Vincent Regan, Rebecca Benson, Rhys Connah, Suki Waterhouse, Patrick Gibson and Joanne Whalley. John Lunn (Downton Abbey, The Last Kingdom) who previously scored The White Queen has composed the music for the 8-parter. The drama air in the U.S. Sunday nights on Starz. ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’ Soundtrack Details

king-arthurThe full details of the soundtrack album for Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Daniel Pemberton (Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Counselor, Gold). The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically next month by WaterTower Music. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD version. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is directed by Guy Ritchie and stars Charlie Hunnam, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou, Aidan Gillen, Jude Law and Eric Bana. ‘Descendants 2’ Soundtrack Announced

descendants-2Walt Disney Records will release a soundtrack album for the Disney Channel original movie Descendants 2. The album features the songs from the movie performed by the film’s cast, including Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Cameron Boyce, Booboo Stewart, China Anne McClain, Thomas Doherty, Dylan Playfair and Mitchell Hope. Also included are three songs from the animated short-form series Descendants: Wicked World. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on July 21, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.  Descendants 2 is directed by Kenny Ortega and follows Mal as she returns to the Isle of the Lost to find her archenemy Uma, the daughter of Ursula, and teams up with Harry, the son of Captain Hook, and Gil, the son of Gaston.  Read the rest of this entry »

fate-furiousIn addition to the nationwide expansion of Gifted, the only nationwide release this week is the action sequel The Fate of the Furious directed by F. Gary Gray and starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Charlize Theron, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges. Atlantic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie. Click here for the full album details. The film’s original score is composed by Brian Tyler (Fast Five, Furious 7). Back Lot Music will release the composer’s score later this month. sparkOpening in around 350 theaters is the animated feature Spark: A Space Tail written and directed by Aaron Woodley and featuring the voices of Jace Norman, Jessica Biel, Susan Sarandon, Patrick Stewart and Hilary Swank. Robert Duncan (Castle, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Timeless, The Unit, Terriers) has composed the film’s original music. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Cold Mountain, 1408). Also included is an original end credits song by Chris Cornell, which already available as a single. The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 21 and physically a few weeks later. The Promise is directed by Terry George (Hotel Rwanda) and stars Oscar Isaac, Christian Bale, Charlotte Le Bon, Angela Sarafyan, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Daniel Gimenez Cacho, James Cromwell and Jean Reno. The movie is set in 1922 amid the final days of the Ottoman Empire and centers on a love triangle in 1922 with a medical student, an American journalist based in Paris and a beautiful and sophisticated woman. The movie follows a top protection agent and his mortal enemy and a most notorious hitman who are thrown together for 24 hours. Tom O’Connor (Fire with Fire) wrote the screenplay. the-get-downThe full details of the new soundtrack album for the Netflix original series The Get Down have been revealed. The album features the songs from the second part of the show performed by the drama’s cast. The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 21, 2017 by RCA Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. RCA has previously released a soundtrack album for the first part of the series in various editions.  The Get Down is created by Baz Luhrmann and stars Justice Smith, Shameik Moore, Herizen Guardiola, Skylan Brooks, Tremaine Brown Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Jimmy Smits. cars-3Walt Disney Records will release the original song Ride from Pixar Animation’s sequel Cars 3. The song is performed by singer/songwriter ZZ Ward featuring Gary Clark Jr.. The track will be released as a digital single tomorrow, April 14 and will be available to download on Amazon. Cars 3 is directed by Brian Fee and features the voices of Owen Wilson, Cristela Alonzo, Armie Hammer, Larry the Cable Guy, Bonnie Hunt, Cheech Marin, Jenifer Lewis, John Ratzenberger, Lloyd Sherr, Michael Wallis, Paul Dooley, Kerry Washington and Nathan Fillion. The show is created by Seth MacFarlane (Ted, Family Guy, A Million Ways to Die in the West, American Dad) who also stars in the series alongside Adrianne Palicki, Mark Jackson, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, J Lee, Halston Sage and Penny Johnson. smurfsSony Pictures Animation has published a video featurette about the music for the studio’s animated feature Smurfs: The Lost Village. The video features composer Christopher Lennertz (Sausage Party, Horrible Bosses, Ride Along, Identity Thief) and director Kelly Asbury talking about their work on the project, as well as footage from the scoring sessions at Abbey Road Studios in London.
