The full details of the soundtrack album for James Ponsoldt’s thriller The Circle have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Alice in Wonderland, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Edward Scissorhands). Also included is the cover version of Shaker’s Simple Gifts recorded for the movie by Jónsi (check out our previous article to listen to the track). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday April 28, 2017 by Sony Masterworks and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Arturo Sandoval is composing the music for the upcoming comedy Drunk Parents. The film is directed by Fred Wolf (The House Bunny, Strange Wilderness) and stars Alec Baldwin, Salma Hayek, Jim Gaffigan, Joe Manganiello, Bridget Moynahan and Ben Platt. The movie follows two drunk parents who attempt to hide their ever increasing financial difficulties from their daughter and social circle through elaborate neighborhood schemes. Wolf also co-wrote the screenplay with Peter Gaulke (Ice Age: The Meltdown, Say It Isn’t So). Robert Ogden Barnum (Margin Call, Miles Ahead) and Aaron L. Quartet Records has announced a soundtrack album for the animated feature Richard the Stork. The album features the film’s original music composed by Eric Neveux (Intimacy, Hideaways, Cezanne et Moi, Borgia, Nicholas on Holiday) who recorded his score with the Brussels Philharmonic. Also included is the original song We’re Coming Home performed by Stacey King. The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 2, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. A physical version can be orderers on the label’s official website Richard the Stork is directed by Toby Genkel & Reza Memari (All Creatures Big and Small) and follows a sparrow who was orphaned at birth and raised by storks and learns about his true identity when his storks family plans to migrate to Africa. UPDATE: Director Michael Dougherty mentioned on Twitter that Junkie XL is not scoring the film and GQ Magazine’s article is incorrect.
According to a recent article in GQ, Junkie XL (aka Tom Holkenborg) will be scoring the upcoming monster movie Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The film is directed by Michael Dougherty (Krampus, Trick ‘r Treat) and stars Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Ken Watanabe, O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Aisha Hinds. No plot details have been announced yet. Dougherty is writing the screenplay with Zach Shields (Krampus). Thomas Tull & Jon Jashni are producing the Legendary Entertainment production with Mary Parent (The Revenant, Pacific Rim) and Brian Rogers. Blake Neely revealed in a recent interview in Variety that he is set to reunite with Greg Berlanti on the upcoming feature coming-of-age comedy drama Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda. The film is directed by Berlanti and stars Nick Robinson, Jennifer Garner, Katherine Langford, Alexandra Shipp, Logan Miller, Tony Hale, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Miles Heizer and Talitha Bateman. The movie is based on Becky Albertalli’s 2015 book of the same title and centers on a gay teenager, who, after an email written by him falls into the wrong hands, is forced to find a way to step out of his comfort zone before being pushed out. Cristobal Tapia de Veer (Utopia, The Girl With All the Gifts) won his first BAFTA TV Craft Award today for his music for the Channel 4 & Hulu mini-series National Treasure. The composer accepted his award in person at the ceremony in London. Check out his acceptance speech after the jump. Tapia de Veer’s score for the show was released earlier this year by Free Run Artists. Premiering tonight is the new Lifetime original series Mary Kills People created by Tara Armstrong and starring Caroline Dhavernas, Jay Ryan, Richard Short, Lyriq Bent, Greg Bryk and Charlotte Sullivan. The show’s original music is composed by John Rowley (Defendor, Weirdsville). Mary Kills People centers on a single mother who is an ER doctor by day, but by night, she and her partner, a former plastic surgeon, moonlight as underground angels of death and help terminally ill patients slip away on their own terms. Premiering on Tuesday, April 25, is National Geographic’s first scripted series Genius executive produced by Brian Grazer & Ron Howard and starring Geoffrey Rush, Johnny Flynn, Emily Watson, Nicholas Rowe, Samantha Colley, Jon Fletcher, Richard Topol and Alicia von Rittberg. Lorne Balfe (The LEGO Batman Movie, Home, Terminator Genisys) is composing the show’s music and Hans Zimmer (Pirates of the Caribbean, Inception, Gladiator) wrote the main titles theme. Milan Records will release a soundtrack EP for the show this Friday, April 28 and a full soundtrack album is in the works for a release later this year.
