The album features the film’s original music composed by Laura Karpman (Underground, Black Nativity, Taken mini-series). Also included are two re-imaginings of classic French songs – Je te veux and Que reste-t-il de nos amours – sung by international star vocalist Ute Lemper. The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio samples. Paris Can Wait is written and directed by Eleanor Coppola and stars Diane Lane, Arnaud Viard and Alec Baldwin. The movie follows a Hollywood producer’s wife who reluctantly takes a trip through France, , which reawakens her sense of self and her joie de vivre. The album features the film’s original music composed by Geoff Zanelli (DisturbiaInto the WestThe PacificHitmanThe Odd Life of Timothy Green) who previously contributed additional music to the previous four movies in the series. The soundtrack will be released on May 26, 2017 by Walt Disney Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is directed by Joachim Rønning & Espen Sandberg and stars Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem, Brenton Thwaites, Kevin R. sangamithraAccording to The Hollywood ReporterA.R. Rahman is set to compose the music for the upcoming Indian epic drama Sangamithra. The film will be directed by Sundar C. (AranmanaiAnbe Sivam) and is set to star Jayam Ravi, Arya and Shruti Haasan. The movie is set in the 8th century AD and tells the story of the trials and tribulations of Sangamithra and her journey to save her kingdom. The drama produced by Thenandal Studios Limited will be split and released in two parts. Sangamithra is currently in pre-production and will begin principal photography this summer.

Last night, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) held its annual Screen Music Awards at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. Stephen Schwartz was honored with the ASCAP Founders Award, which is given to pioneering ASCAP songwriters who have made exceptional contributions to music by inspiring and influencing their fellow music creators. The Academy Award-, Grammy Award- and Golden Globe-winning composer was presented the award by ASCAP president Paul Williams. Several of Schwartz’s collaborators congratulated the songwriter via a video message, including former DreamWorks Animation head Jeffrey Katzenberg, actor Victor Garber, producer Marc Platt and composers/lyricists Benj Pasek & Justin Paul.  Read the rest of this entry »
