Jeff Russo (Fargo, Ridley, Legion, The Night Of, The Umbrella Academy, For All Mankind, The Man Who Feel to Earth) has been hired to score the upcoming Paramount+ original series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. The show stars Kerrice Brooks, Bella Shepard, George Hawkins, Karim Diané, Zoë Steiner, Tig Notaro, Robert Picardo, as well as Holly Hunter who plays the captain and chancellor of Starfleet Academy. Oded Fehr, Mary Wiseman, Gina Yashere, Paul Giamatti and Tatiana Maslany will appear as guest stars in the sci-fi drama, which follows the adventures of a new class of Starfleet cadets as they come of age in one of the most legendary places in the galaxy. Lakeshore Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Paramount Network original series Yellowstone. The album features selections of the original music from the second part of the show’s fifth and final season composed by Brian Tyler (Iron Man 3, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Fast & Furious,  Avengers: Age of Ultron, Crazy Rich Asians) and Breton Vivian (1883, 1923, Five Feet ApartRedeeming Love). The Volume 2 soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, December 6 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The film starring Christopher Abbott, Julia Garner, Matlida Firth, Sam Jaeger, Ben Prendergast, Benedict Hardie, Beatriz Romilly, Zac Chandler & Milo Cawthorne follows a San Francisco husband and father who returns to his childhood home in rural Oregon with his wife and young daughter, where he gets attacked by an unseen animal and begins to behave strangely, transforming into something unrecognizable. Waxwork Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1979 sci-fi/horror cult classic Phantasm written and directed by Don Coscarelli and starring Michael Baldwin, Bill Thornbury, Reggie Bannister and Kathy Lester. The album features the premiere release of the film’s complete original score composed by Fred Myrow (Soylent Green, Scarecrow, Hour of the Assassin, Survival Quest) and Malcolm Seagrave, previously unrleased cues from the score recordings sessions, as well as the newly remastered original 1979 score album. B Original has released a soundtrack album for the French musical comedy drama Queens of Drama (Les reines du drame). The album features the film’s original score composed by Pierre Desprats (OlgaRouge, She Is Conann, The Wild Boys, The Cow Who Sang a Song Into the Future, Perfect Nanny), as well as the movie’s songs written by Rebeka Warrior, Mona Soyoc, Desprats himself & others. The details of the first soundtrack album from Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King have been revealed. The album features the film’s original songs written by Grammy Award & Tony Award winner and Academy Award nominee Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, Moana, In the Heights, Encanto) and performed by voice cast members including Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Anika Noni Rose, Keith David, Tiffany Boone, Mads Mikkelsen, Preston Nyman, Kagiso Lediga, Braelyn Rankins and Theo Somolu. Also included is a track performed by Lebo M who provided additional music and performances to the project. The soundtrack will be released on December 13 by Walt Disney Records. A separate “deluxe edtion” album featuring the songs and the film’s original score composed by Dave Metzger is also expected to come out this month. Making its linear premiere tonight is the Showtime original series The Agency developed by Jez Butterworth & John-Henry Butterworth and starring Michael Fassbender, Jodie Turner-Smith, Jeffrey Wright, John Magaro, Andrew Brooke, Katherine Waterston, Harriet Sansom Harris, Alex Reznik, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, Reza Brojerdi, India Fowler and Richard Gere. The show’s original music is composed by Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch (All of Us Strangers, LivingThe Forgotten Battle, The StraysCensor). Caldera Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the HBO original documentary series The Jinx directed by Andrew Jarecki about real-estate scion and convicted murderer Robert Durst who managed to evade justice for over three decades. ‘Asaf’ Soundtrack Album Released

Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album for the Turkish Netflix original series Asaf. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Toygar Isikli (Family SecretsSon, As the Crow Flies, Endless LoveBabil). Asaf is created by Özgür Önurme and stars Cihangir Ceyhan, Burçin Terzioğlu, Ahmet Rıfat Şungar and Saadet Işıl Aksoy.
