La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1979 James Bond movie Moonraker directed by Lewis Gilbert and starring Roger Moore, Lois Chiles, Michael Lonsdale, Richard Kiel and Corinne Cléry. The 45th Anniversary Edition album features the remastered and expanded original score from the film composed and conducted by Academy Award winner John Barry (Dances with Wolves, Goldfinger, Out of Africa, Somewhere in Time, Body Heat), including previously unreleased music. Also included is the title song written by the composer, featuring lyrics by Hal David and performed by Shirley Bassey, alternate versions of the song, including two early versions with lyrics and vocals by Academy Award winner Paul Williams, as well as source music recorded for the movie and additional versions of score cues. The 2- CD set, which is limited to 5,000 copies, is now available to order in the 007 Store and on the label’s official website, where you can also find out more about the release and listen to audio samples.
