Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album for the Russian fantasy adventure The Last Warrior (Posledni Bogatyr). The album features the film’s original music composed by George Kallis (The Black Prince, Albion: The Enchanted Stallion, 93 Days). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The film is directed by Dmitry Dyachenko and stars Victor Chorinyak, Mila Sivatskaya, Ekaterina Vilkova and Elena Yakovleva. The movie, which marks Disney’s first local language production in Russia in almost a decade, was released in Russia last month and will be released in other international territories over the next couple of months. Marvel Music and ABC Studios will release a soundtrack album for Marvel’s new Netflix original series The Punisher. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, 300, John Wick, Watchmen, Dawn of the Dead), including the composer’s main title theme. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 17 and will be available to download on Amazon. The Punisher is developed by Steve Lightfoot based on the Marvel Comic character and stars Jon Bernthal in the title role, alongside Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, Deborah Ann Woll, Daniel Webber, Jason R. The full details of the soundtrack album for Joe Wright’s biographical drama Darkest Hour have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Dario Marianelli (Kubo and the Two Strings, V for Vendetta, Paddington 2) who previously scored the director’s Atonement, Pride and Prejudice and Anna Karenina. Vikingur Olafsson is featured as the piano soloist on the composer’s score. The soundtrack will be released tomorrow, November 17 by Deutsche Grammophon. Luis Bacalov has passed away today at age 84 in Rome. The composer is best known for his score for the Italian drama Il Postino, for which he received the Academy Award in the Best Original Score category in 1996. He was also Oscar-nominated in 1967 for his work on Pasolini’s The Gospel According to St. Matthew. His other credits include numerous westerns such as Django, A Bullet for the General and The Grand Duel. Other notable movies he worked on include B.
