Netflix announced today that Christopher Curtis, Marjorie Duffield and Helen Park are writing original songs for the upcoming animated feature Over the Moon. The film is directed by Glen Keane (Dear Basketball) and follows a girl who builds a rocket ship and blasts off to the moon in hopes of meeting a legendary Moon Goddess. Audrey Wells (Shall We DanceUnder the Tuscan Sun) wrote the screenplay. Wayfind Records has released a soundtrack album for the indie sci-fi thriller Diverge. The album features the film’s original music composed by Brooke Blair & Will Blair (Green Room, Blue Ruins, I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore, Wheelman). The full details of the soundtrack album for the romantic comedy Basmati Blues have been revealed. The album features the original songs from the movie written by Pearl Jam, Sugarland, Siddhartha Khosla (of Goldspot), Dave Baerwald, Sonu Nigam, the film’s composer Steven Argila & others and performed by the movie’s cast. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, February 9, and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Basmati Blues is co-written and directed by Danny Baron and stars Brie Larson, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Scott Bakula, Saahil Sehgal, Tyne Daly and Donald Sutherland. Vampire Weekend member Ezra Koenig and director Will Gluck have co-written an original song for the new family comedy Peter Rabbit. The track, entitled I Promise You, is featured in three different versions in the movie, including a version performed by James Corden (voice of the film’s lead character) and produced by Greg Kurstin, another one performed by Shana Halligan, Katharine Hoye, Fletcher Sheridan & Chris Mannas and produced by the film’s composer Dominic Lewis (The Man in the High Castle, Money MonsterFree Birds), as well as demo version performed by Koenig himself. Composer Theodore Shapiro (Ghostbusters, The Devil Wears Prada) co-wrote another original song, Small As Your Dreams, with Gluck. The show is developed by Jason Smilovic (Lucky Number Slevin, War Dogs) & Todd Katzberg and stars Max Irons, William Hurt, Leem Lubany, Angel Bonanni, Kristen Hager, with Mira Sorvino, Brendan Fraser and Bob Balaban. The thriller is based on the novel Six Days of the Condor by James Grady and screenplay Three Days of the Condor by Lorenzo Semple Jr. & David Rayfiel and follows a young CIA analyst who stumbles onto a terrible but brilliant plan that threatens the lives of millions.
