Netflix announced today that Christopher Curtis, Marjorie Duffield and Helen Park are writing original songs for the upcoming animated feature Over the Moon. The film is directed by Glen Keane (Dear Basketball) and follows a girl who builds a rocket ship and blasts off to the moon in hopes of meeting a legendary Moon Goddess. Audrey Wells (Shall We Dance, Under the Tuscan Sun) wrote the screenplay. Gennie Rim (Dear Basketball, Duet) is producing the Pearl Studios production. Vampire Weekend member Ezra Koenig and director Will Gluck have co-written an original song for the new family comedy Peter Rabbit. The track, entitled I Promise You, is featured in three different versions in the movie, including a version performed by James Corden (voice of the film’s lead character) and produced by Greg Kurstin, another one performed by Shana Halligan, Katharine Hoye, Fletcher Sheridan & Chris Mannas and produced by the film’s composer Dominic Lewis (The Man in the High Castle, Money Monster, Free Birds), as well as demo version performed by Koenig himself.
