Christopher Lennertz and Matt Bowen have composed the original music for the new Netflix limited series Best.Worst.Weekend.Ever. The show is created by Robin Stein & Daniel Bryan Franklin and stars Sam Ashe Arnold, Cole Sand, Brianna Reed,Brittany Garms, Rachel Gage, Cleo Fraser, Eddie Leavy and Tiffany Espensen. The comedy revolves around a group of teenage friends who plan an epic trip to Comic-Con to meet their idol, only to get caught in one hilariously awkward predicament after another. Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, Hellraiser, Ghost Rider, Entrapment, The Grudge) has been tapped to score the upcoming new film adaptation of Stephen King’s Pet Sematary. The film is directed by Kevin Kölsch & Dennis Widmyer (Starry Eyes) and stars Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, John Lithgow, Jeté Laurence and Hugo & Lucas Lavoie. The movie follows a young family who, after moving to a rural home, discover they are living next to a creepy pet cemetery endowed with powers to reanimate whatever is buried on its grounds. Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the biographical drama First Man directed by Damien Chazelle and starring Ryan Gosling, Claire Foy, Jason Clarke, Kyle Chandler, Corey Stoll, Ciarán Hinds, Christopher Abbott, Patrick Fugit and Lukas Haas. The film’s original music is composed by Justin Hurwitz (La La Land,Whiplash). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening nationwide is the mystery thriller Bad Times at the El Royale written and directed by Drew Goddard and starring Jeff Bridges, Cynthia Erivo, Dakota Johnson, Jon Hamm, Cailee Spaeny, Lewis Pullman, Nick Offerman and Chris Hemsworth. Michael Giacchino (Up, Lost, Jurassic World, The Incredibles, Star Trek) has composed the film’s original score.
