Deadline is reporting that RZA is attached to score the upcoming horror thriller Angel of Dust. The Wu-Tang Clan member will also direct the movie, which follows a normal yet exceptionally smart teenager and talented rapper who – after the mysterious death of his parents – is forced to grow up in NY’s roughest inner-city street. RZA is also producing the project with Ghostface Killah and Impossible Dream Entertainment’s Shaun Redick (BlacKkKlansman). Matt Leslie & Stephen J. Soundtrack Album for HBO’s ‘Vice Principals’ Announced

Waxwork Records has announced the first soundtrack release for the HBO original series Vice Principals. The album features the complete score from the show’s first two seasons composed by Joseph Stephens (Eastbound and Down, Observe and Report, Flower). The soundtrack will be released as a 180 gram North Jackson Warriors Blue and White colored vinyl (Season 1) and 180 Gram North Jackson Tigers Orange and White colored vinyl (Season 2) and will be available on the label’s official website starting tomorrow, January 29. Henry Jackman (Wreck-It-Ralph, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, X-Men: First Class, Big Hero 6, Kong: Skull Island) has recently scored the upcoming thriller Mosul. The film is marks the directorial debut of screenwriter Matthew Michael Carnahan (World War Z, Deepwater Horizon, The Kingdom) and tells of the true story of an elite police unit made up almost entirely of native sons of Mosul, Iraq’s second largest city, who fought to liberate it from 6,000 ISIS militants who overran it in 2014. Quartet Records has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish/French drama Quién te cantará. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Alberto Iglesias (The Constant Gardener, Tinker Tailor Solider Spy, The Kite Runner, Volver, Exodus: Gods and Kings). Also included are tracks by lead actress Najwa Nimri, Amaral and Kevin Thorpe. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Michel Legrand has passed away today at age 86 in Paris, France. The composer has written over 200 film/TV scores and songs over a five-decade spanning career. He received three Academy Awards for his scores for Robert Mulligan’s Summer of ’42 and Barbra Streisand’s Yentl and the song The Windmills of Your Mind from Norman Jewison’s The Thomas Crown Affair. He was Oscar-nominated several other times for his music Jacques Demy’s The Umbrellas of Cherbourg & The Young Girls of Rochefort, songs from Richard Brooks’ The Happy Ending, Daniel Haller’s Pieces of Dreams and Norman Jewison’s Best Friends. Two new movies are opening nationwide this week:
Opening in most theaters is the fantasy adventure The Kid Who Would Be King written and directed by Joe Cornish and starring Louis Ashbourne Serkis, Dean Chaumoo, Tom Taylor, Rhianna Dorris, Angus Imrie, Rebecca Ferguson and Patrick Stewart. Also opening wide is the mystery thriller Serenity written and directed by Steven Knight and starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jason Clarke, Diane Lane, Djimon Hounsou and Jeremy Strong.
