John Carpenter confirmed in a recent interview with Billboard the he has closed a deal to score the upcoming horror sequel Halloween. David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, All the Real Girls, Stronger) is set to direct the movie, which will star Jamie Lee Curtis who will reprise her role as Laurie Strode. Judy Greer in talks to play her daughter, Karen Strode. Green also co-wrote the screenplay with Danny McBride. Jason Blum (Get Out, Split, Paranormal Activity, Insidious) is producing the project through his Blumhouse company, alongside Malek Akkad who previously produced Rob Zombie’s Halloween and its sequel. Varese Sarabande has announced details of the soundtrack album for Martin McDonagh’s comedy drama Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Carter Burwell (Carol, Fargo, Twilight, True Grit) who previously collaborated with the director on In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths. Also included are tracks by Joan Baez, Monsters of Folk, Townes Van Zandt and The Four Tops.
