In the Music & Lyrics category, Rachel Bloom, Adam Schlesinger and Jack Dolgen received the prize for the original song Antidepressants Are So Not A Big Deal from the episode I Have To Get Out of The CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Nathaniel Blume is scoring the new Fox drama Prodigal Son. The show is created by Chris Fedak (Chuck, Forever) & Sam Sklaver and stars Tom Payne, Michael Sheen, Bellamy Young, Halston Sage, Lou Diamond Phillips, Frank Harts, Keiko Agena and Aurora Perrineau. The series follows a troubled criminal psychologist as he uses his twisted genius to help the NYPD solve crimes. Fedak & Sklaver are also executive producing the Warner Bros. Two new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the drama Hustlers written and directed by Lorene Scafaria and starring Constance Wu, Jennifer Lopez, Julia Stiles, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, Lizzo and Cardi B. The movie doesn’t feature an original score. STX Entertainment’s head of music Jason Markey serves as the project’s music supervisor. No soundtrack album has been announced yet. Also opening wide is the film adaptation of The Goldfinch directed by John Crowley and starring Ansel Elgort, Nicole Kidman, Oakes Fegley, Aneurin Barnard, Finn Wolfhard, Sarah Paulson, Luke Wilson, Jeffrey Wright, Ashleigh Cummings and Willa Fitzgerald. Lakeshore Records will release the official soundtrack album for Noah Hawley’s sci-fi drama Lucy in the Sky. The album features the film’s original music composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Russo (Star Trek: Discovery, The Night Of, The Umbrella Academy, The Act) who has previously collaborated with Hawley on FX’s Fargo and Legion, among other projects.
