Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1986 sci-fi adventure comedy Howard the Duck directed by Willard Huyck and starring Lea Thompson, Jeffrey Jones and Tim Robbins. The 3-CD set features the expanded original music from the Lucasfilm production composed and conducted by John Barry (Goldfinger, Out of Africa, Dances with Wolves). Also included is additional music by Sylvester Levay (Hot Shots!, Cobra), as well as the movie’s original songs produced by Thomas Dolby. WaterTower Music will release the official soundtrack album for the thriller Joker. The album features the film’s original music composed by Emmy Award winner Hildur Gudnadottir (Chernobyl, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Mary Magdalene, Strong Island). Netflix has announced today that Jason Robert Brown (The Last Five Years, The Bridges of Madison Country, Honeymoon in Vegas) is set to compose new music for a movie adaptation of the stage musical 13: The Musical. Tamra Davis (Billy Madison, Crossroads) is attached to direct the film and Robert Horn (Teen Beach Movie, Good Advice) will adapt the script based on the book he co-wrote with Dan Elis. The movie follows a teenage boy as he grapples with his parents’ divorce, prepares for his impending Bar Mitzvah, and navigates the complicated social circles of a new school.
