Premiering tonight is the HBO docu-series Allen v. Farrow directed by Kirby Dick & Amy Ziering about the accusation of sexual abuse against Woody Allen involving his 7-year-old daughter with Mia Farrow. The show’s original music is composed by Michael Abels (Get Out, Us, Bad Education, All Day and a Night, See You Yesterday). Check out our previous news article for more information about the 4-part series, which will air Sunday nights on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.

Premiering in the U.S. tomorrow, February 22, is the HBO Europe original series Beartown (Björnstad) created by Anders Weidemann, Antonia Pyk & Linn Gottfridsson based on the Fredrik Backman’s novel of the same title and starring Ulf Stenberg and Aliette Opheim. Johan Testad (The Sandhamn Murders, Inkognito, Drifters) has composed the show’s original music. Music Super Circus has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last fall when the series premiered in Scandinavia. World Premiere Soundtrack Release for ‘Bandits in Rome’ Announced

Quartet Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1968 Italian crime drama Bandits in Rome (Roma come Chicago) directed by Alberto De Martino, produced by Dino de Laurentiis and starring John Cassavetes, Gabriele Ferzetti, Anita Sanders and Nikos Kourkoulos. The album features the original music from the Paramount Pictures release composed by Ennio Morricone (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in the West, Cinema Paradiso, The Mission, The Hateful Eight) & Bruno Nicolai (The Mercenary, Operation Kid Brother, Shanghai Joe, Django Shoots First). Antonio Pinto (City of God, McFarland, USA, Amy, Lord of War, Senna, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind), Gabriel Ferreira & Felipe Kim (The Mechanism) have composed the original score for the new Netflix original documentary Pelé. The film is directed by David Tryhorn & Ben Nicholas and tells the story of iconic footballer Pelé, his quest for perfection and the mythical status he attained. The movie, which features interviews with Pelé himself, Zagallo, Rivellino, Juca Kfouri & Gilberto Gil, looks back at the extraordinary 12-year period in which the football player, the only man to win three World Cup titles, went from young superstar in 1958 to national hero in 1970. Opening in theaters nationwide today following an IMAX-exclusive release over the last three weeks is the drama Nomadland written and directed by Chloe Zhao and starring Frances McDormand, David Strathairn, Linda May, Swankie and Bob Wells. The film features (pre-existing) compositions by Ludovico Einaudi (The Intouchables, The Father, Samba). Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as tracks by Ólafur Arnalds, Nat King Cole, Cat Clifford, Paul Winer, Donnie Miller & others. Opening in select U.S. theaters and on VOD today is the British comedy Blithe Spirit directed by Edward Hall and starring Dan Stevens, Isla Fisher, Judi Dench, Leslie Mann, Aimee-ffion Edwards and Emilia Fox. The film’s original score is composed by Simon Boswell (Hackers, Lord of Illusions, Shadow Grave, A Midsummer Night’s Dream). Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie by artists such as Michael Ball, Imelda May, Shaun Escoffrey, Alfie Boe, Gregory Porter & others earlier this year when the movie premiered in the UK. Ruth Barrett (Bodyguard, Collateral, Harry Brown, Victoria, Sanditon) has recently scored the new BBC series Bloodlands. The show is created by Chris Brandon and stars James Nesbitt, Lisa Dwan, Lorcan Cranitch, Charlene McKenna, Ian McElhinney, Lola Petticrew and Chris Walley. The 4-part crime thriller is directed by Pete Travis (Dredd, Vantage Point) and revolves around a detective who is forced to grapple with his past when he is sent on the hunt for a mythical assassin. Jed Mercurio (Line of Duty, Critical), Jimmy Mulville (Flack, Episodes) and Mark Redhead (Bloody Sunday, The Secret) are producing the project for HTM Television production. Disney’s ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’ to Feature Original Song ‘Lead the Way’ by Jhené Aiko

Disney announced today that Jhené Aiko has recorded the original song Lead the Way for the studios’ new animated feature Raya and the Last Dragon. The track, which is featured during the movie’s end title sequence, is written and performed by the Grammy Award-nominated singer/songwriter and will be included on the movie’s official soundtrack album, which also features the film’s original score by James Newton Howard, and will be coming out next Friday, February 26. ‘Soul Snatcher’ Soundtrack Released

Universal Music has released a soundtrack album for the Chinese fantasy adventure Soul Snatcher. The album features the film’s original music composed by Joe Hisaishi (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, Departures, Howl’s Moving Castle) . Dan Romer (Beasts of the Southern Wild, Maniac, Beasts of No Nation, Wendy) is scoring the new CW superhero drama Superman & Lois. The show is developed by Todd Helbing (The Flash) based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster and stars Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Jordan Elsass, Alexander Garfin, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Erik Valdez, Inde Navarrette, Dylan Walsh and Wolé Parks. The series follows the world’s most famous superhero, The Man of Steel aka Clark Kent, and comic books’ most famous journalist, Lois Lane, as they come face to face with one of their greatest challenges ever – dealing with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the Showtime documentary My Psychedelic Love Story. The album features the film’s original music composed by Paul Leonard-Morgan (Limitless, Dredd, Tales from the Loop, Dynasty, Walking with Dinosaurs 3D) . The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also listen to audio clips. My Psychedelic Love Story is directed by Errol Morris (who previously collaborated with the composer on the Netflix series Wormwood and the features The B-Side: Elsa Dorfman’s Portrait Photography & American Dharma) and examines the notorious high priest of LSD Timothy Leary through the eyes of his famed lover Joanna Harcourt-Smith. The album features the film’s original music composed by Debbie Wiseman (Wilde, Wolf Hall, Vampire Killers, Adventures of Arsene Lupin). To Olivia is directed by John Hay and stars Keeley Hawes, Hugh Bonneville and Sam Heughan.
