Decca Records has released a soundtrack album for the British comedy Blithe Spirit. The album features the songs from the movie by artists such as Michael Ball, Shaun Escoffrey, Imelda May, Alfie Boe, Barney Kingswell & The Dandies, Gregory Porter, Thea Gilmore & others. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also listen to audio samples. A CD version will be coming out next week and is available for pre-order on Amazon. Blithe Spirit is directed by Edward Hall and stars Dan Stevens, Isla Fisher, Judi Dench, Leslie Mann, Aimee-ffion Edwards and Emilia Fox. The movie is based Noël Coward’s classic play of the same title and follows a crime author who invites an eccentric mystic to his home in hopes of curing a terrible case of writer’s block he encounters as he tries to finish his first script. The album features selections of the original music from sixteen episodes of the show composed by Barry Gray (Thunderbirds, UFO, Space: 1999, Supercar, Captain Scarlet), including the Fireball XL5 main theme and single version.
