Decca Records has released a soundtrack album for the British comedy Blithe Spirit. The album features the songs from the movie by artists such as Michael Ball, Shaun Escoffrey, Imelda May, Alfie Boe, Barney Kingswell & The Dandies, Gregory Porter, Thea Gilmore & others. The movie is directed by Mikael Håfström (1408, Derailed) and stars Anthony Mackie, Damson Idris, Enzo Cilenti, Emily Beecham, Michael Kelly and Pilou Asbæk. The sci-fi adventure is set in the future and centers on a drone pilot who is sent into a deadly militarized zone where he finds himself working for an android officer, tasked to locate a doomsday device before the insurgents do. The album features the film’s original music composed by Emile Mosseri (The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Homecoming, Kajillionaire, Random Acts of Flyness). Silva Screen Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the British 60s sci-fi puppet series Fireball XL5 created by Gerry & Sylvia Anderson. The album features selections of the original music from sixteen episodes of the show composed by Barry Gray (Thunderbirds, UFO, Space: 1999, Supercar, Captain Scarlet), including the Fireball XL5 main theme and single version. Also included is the closing song Fireball performed by Don Spencer. The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, January 22 and will be available to stream/download here. Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Pollock, Rome, Carnivale, The Biggest Little Farm, Appaloosa) has been tapped to score the new CW drama Walker. The show is created by Anna Fricke (Being Human, Valor) based on the 90s hit CBS series Walker, Texas Ranger and stars Jared Padalecki, Lindsey Morgan, Keegan Allen, Kale Culley, Violet Brinson, Molly Hagen, Mitch Pileggi, Coby Bell and Jeff Pierr. The series revolves around a widower and father of two with his own moral code, who returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years, only to discover there’s harder work to be done at home.
