The 57th Annual CAS Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing were given out today at a virtual ceremony. Among the scoring winners honored as part of the sound mixing teams were David Boucher for Pixar’s Soul (scored by Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross & Jon Batiste) in the Motion Pictures – Animated category, Lawrence Manchester for Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit (scored by Carlos Rafael Rivera) in the Non-Theatrical Motion Picture or Limited Series category, Stewart Lerman for Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (scored by Sam Phillips & Eric Gorfain) in the Television Series – 1 Hour category and Chris Fogel for Disney+’s The Mandalorian (scored by Ludwig Goransson) in the Television Series – 1/2 Hour category. Epic Records has released the first songs from the second season of the Epix original series Godfather of Harlem. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music platforms are Been To War by Swizz Beatz, DMX & French Montana, as well as Prince Hakeem by India Shawn & ADÉ. Celeste & composer Daniel Pemberton will perform Hear My Voice from Aaron Sorkin’s The Trial of the Chicago 7, H.E.R. will perform Fight for You from Shaka King’s Judas and the Black Messiah, Laura Pausini & Diane Warren will perform Io Si (Seen) from Eduardo Ponti’s The Life Ahead, Leslie Odom, Jr. will perform Speak Now from Regina King’s One Night in Miami… and Molly Sandén will perform Húsavík from Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga. Opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the drama Monday co-written and directed by Argyris Papadimitropoulos and starring Sebastian Stan, Denise Gough, Yorgos Pirpassopoulos and Dominique Tipper. Linda Perry (of of the former rock band 4 Non Blondes) (Citizen Penn, Punky Brewster) has released a soundtrack album for the Hulu documentary Kid 90. The album features the singer/songwriter’s original score and several  original songs (including The Letter, which has previously been released as a digital single) from the film. Kid 90 is directed by Soleil Moon Frye who – as a teenager in the 90s – carried a video camera everywhere she went documenting her group of friends (including David Arquette, Brian Austin Green and Mark-Paul Gosselaar) as they grew up in Hollywood and New York City. The album features the original music from the first episodes of the show composed by John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, Invincible, The Star). Netflix announced today that Yugo Kanno (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Batman Ninja, Psycho Pass, Ajin) is composing the music for the upcoming Netflix anime series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. The horror action series directed by Eiichiro Hasumi (Umizaru, The Sun Does Not Move) and produced and supervised by Capcom’s Hiroyuki Kobayashi is based around the stories of the two popular characters, Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. TMS Entertainment is producing the project, while Quebico, led by Kei Miyamoto (Resident Evil: Vendetta) is in charge of the full 3DCG animation production.
