Premiering tonight is the Discovery docu-series Why We Hate directed by Geeta Gandbhir & Sam Pollard and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Alex Gibney & Frank Marshall. The show’s original music is composed by Laura Karpman (Underground, Paris Can Wait, Step, Taken, Black Nativity). Check out our previous news article and the official show website to learn more about the 6-parter, which examines the concept of hatred throughout human evolution through a variety of lenses.

Premiering on Tuesday, October 15, is the USA original series Treadstone developed by Tim Kring based on the Bourne movies and starring Jeremy Irvine, Michelle Forbes, Patrick Fugit, Michael Gaston, Shruti Haasan, Hyo Joo Han, Tess Haubrich and Tracy Ifeachor. Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery, The Night Of, Legion) and Jordan Gagne (The Rookie) are composing the show’s original music and Russo has also composed the main title theme. Soundtrack Album for Hulu’s ‘Looking for Alaska’ to Be Released

Milan Records/Sony Music will release a soundtrack album for the Hulu limited series Looking for Alaska. The album features a selection of songs from the show by artists such as Bloc Party, Miya Folick, The Strokes, Rilo Kiley, José González, Kat Cunning, BEGINNERS & others. Also included is a score suite by the drama’s composer Siddhartha Khosla (This Is Us, Runaways). The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 18, 2019 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Looking for Alaska is created by Josh Schwartz based on the best-selling John Green novel of the same name and stars Charlie Plummer, Kristine Froseth, Denny Love, Jay Lee, Landry Bender, Sofia Vassilieva, Uriah Shelton, Jordan Connor, Ron Cephas Jones and Timothy Simons.

Geoff Barrow & Ben Salisbury Scoring FX’s ‘Devs’

Composers Geoff Barrow & Ben Salisbury (Hanna, Luce, Free Fire) are reteaming with writer/director Alex Garland on the upcoming FX limited series Devs. The show is created by Garland and stars Sonoya Mizuno, Nick Offerman, Jin Ha, Zach Grenier, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Cailee Spaeny and Alison Pill. The sci-fi thriller revolves around a young computer engineer as she investigates the secretive development division of her employer who she believes are behind the murder of her boyfriend.

David Arnold Scoring Channel 4’s ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’

David Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale, Stargate, Sherlock, Tomorrow Never Dies) has announced that he is composing the music for the upcoming Channel 4 animated holiday special The Tiger Who Came to Tea. The composer also co-wrote the original song Hey Tiger! with Don Black that will be performed by Robbie Williams. The animated short is directed by Robin Shaw (We’re Going on a Bear Hunt) and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, David Oyelowo, Clara Ross, Tamsin Grieg, David Walliams and Paul Whitehouse.

Premiering tonight is the new CW drama Batwoman developed by Caroline Dries & Greg Berlanti based on the DC Comics characters and starring Ruby Rose, Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Nicole Kang, Rachel Skarsten, Dougray Scott and Elizabeth Anweis. The show’s original music is composed by Blake Neely (The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl) & Sherri Chung (Riverdale, Blindspot). Also premiering tonight is the British mini-series Press created by Mike Bartlett and starring Charlotte Riley, Ben Chaplin, Priyanga Burford and David Suchet. The series aired last year in the UK on BBC and is making its U.S. debut tonight on PBS as part of its Masterpiece series. Kay also appears in several episodes of the third season of the show created by David E. Soundtrack Album for Netflix’s ‘Big Mouth’ to Be Released

BMG will release the first soundtrack album for the Netflix animated series Big Mouth. The album features a selection of songs from the show written by composer Mark Rivers and performed by the animated comedy’s voice cast, including Nick Kroll, Maya Rudolph, Jessi Klein, Jenny Slate, Jordan Peele, Jason Mantzouka, Fred Armisen, John Mulaney, Thandie Newton, Craig Robinson, Martin Short & others. Also included is Rivers’ Emmy Award-nominated song Totally Gay. Super Songs of Big Mouth – Volume 1 will be released digitally tomorrow, October 4 and will be available to download here. A vinyl edition is set to come out on November 8 and will be available for pre-order on Amazon soon.

Siddhartha Khosla and Jeff Garber are composing the original score for the new CW drama Nancy Drew. The show is based on the book series of the same title created by Edward Stratemeyer and stars Kennedy McMann, Scott Wolf, Alex Saxon, Leah Lewis, Maddison Jaizani, Tunji Kasim, Riley Smith and Alvina August. The series follows the brilliant teenaged detective whose sense of self had come from solving mysteries in her hometown of Horseshoe Bay, Maine – until her mother’s untimely death derails her college plans.

The show is developed by Annie Weisman based on the original Endemol Shine Australia series from Jonathan Gavin & Imogen Banks and stars Brittany Snow, Timothy Hutton, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Emily Osment, Mustafa Elzein, Mo McRae and Victoria Cartagena. The series revolves around an only child who finds her life turned upside down when her father is forced to reveal that over the course of his pioneering career as a fertility doctor, he used his own sperm to conceive dozens of children.
