Gabriel Mann (Modern Family, Rectify, Rosewood) has signed on to score the upcoming movie musical The J Team. The film is directed by Michael Lembeck (The Santa Clause 2 & 3, Tooth Fairy) and stars JoJo Siwa (who is contributing six new songs to the project), Tisha Campbell-Martin, Laura Soltis, Julia Marley, Kerrynton Jones and Kiara T. Romero. The movie follows a young girl whose life is turned upside down when her beloved dance coach decides to retire and is replaced by a sparkle-hating instructor. Eydie Faye wrote the screenplay. Ron French (Five Star Christmas) is producing the Nickelodeon and Awesomeness Films production.

Michael Yezerski & Ambrose Akinmusire Scoring Starz’s ‘Blindspotting’ TV Series
Michael Yezerski (The Tax Collector, The Devil’s Candy, Mental, Feel the Beat, The Vigil) has teamed up with jazz trumpeter and composer Ambrose Akinmusire to score the upcoming Starz original series Blindspotting. The show is created by Rafael Casal & Daveed Diggs based on the 2018 feature of the same title and stars Jasmine Cephas Jones, Casal himself, Benjamin Turner, Candace Nicholas-Lippman, Jaylen Barron, Atticus Woodward and Helen Hunt. The comedy drama centers on the character of Ashley, who is nipping at the heels of a middle class life in Oakland until her partner of 12 years and father of their son is suddenly incarcerated.
Devonté Hynes Tapped as Composer of HBO’s ‘In Treatment’ Season 4
Devonté Hynes (aka Blood Orange) (Queen & Slim, We Are Who We Are, Palo Alto) is the new composer of the HBO original series In Treatment. He is composing the fourth season of the show starring Uzo Aduba, Anthony Ramos, Liza Colón-Zayas, John Benjamin Hickey, Quintessa Swindell and Joel Kinnaman. The new season is set in present-day Los Angeles and follows a therapist as she helps her patients navigate a variety of modern concerns and issues such as the global pandemic and recent major social and cultural shifts.
Soundtrack Album for HBO’s ‘The Nevers’ Released
WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album for the HBO original series The Nevers. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first six episodes composed by Emmy Award winner and Academy Award nominee Mark Isham (Crash, A River Runs Through It, Once Upon a Time, Miracle, Warrior, The Accountant, Judas and the Black Messiah). The Nevers is created by Joss Whedon and stars Laura Donnelly, Ann Skelly, Olivia Williams, James Norton, Tom Riley, Eleanor Tomlinson, Rochelle Neil, Amy Manson, Denis O’Hare, Pip Torrens, Zackary Momoh, Elizabeth Berrington, Anna Devlin, Kiran Sonia Sawar, Viola Prettejohn, Ella Smith, Nick Frost and Ben Chaplin. Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British mini-series Death and Nightingales adapted and directed by Allan Cubitt and starring Matthew Rhys, Jamie Dornan and Ann Skelly. The show’s original music is composed by David Holmes (Ocean’s 11, Out of Sight, Haywire, Killing Eve, Logan Lucky, Ordinary Love, Analyze That) and Gerry Diver (Pixie). The 3-part drama, which tells a story of love, betrayal and revenge set in the haunting countryside of Northern Ireland in 1885, premiered in the UK in 2018 on BBC Two (and in Ireland on RTÉ One) and is making its U.S. debut on Starz.
Also premiering tonight is the Starz original series Run the World created by Leigh Davenport and starring Bresha Webb, Amber Stevens West, Corbin Reid, Tonya Pinkins, Andrea Bordeaux, Stephen Bishop, Tosin Morohunfola, Erika Alexander, Jay Walker and Nick Sagar. Robert Glasper (The Photograph, Miles Ahead) & Derrick Hodge are composing the show’s original music. ‘The Chicken Squad’ Soundtrack Album Released
Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album for the Disney Junior animated series The Chicken Squad. The album features the original songs from the first episodes of the show composed by Alex Geringas (Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, Arlo the Alligator Boy, Woody Woodpecker) and Mike Himelstein (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse). Walt Disney Records has released the first songs from the soundtrack of the second season of the Disney+ original series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Available to stream/download is the High School Musical 2 Medley and Something in the Air performed by the show’s cast and The Perfect Gift & Bet On It performed by Joshua Bassett. Already out since last month is the duet Even When/The Best Part performed by Olivia Rodrigo & Bassett. New Soundtrack Album for HBO’s ‘Euphoria’ Season 1 Released
Interscope Records has released a new soundtrack album for the HBO original series Euphoria. The album features a selection of the songs from the show’s first season by artists such as Bobby Womack, Arcade Fire, Blood Orange, Air Supply, Kilo Kish, Amandla Stenberg, Charlotte Day Wilson, Santigold, The Last Artful, Dodger and Ai Bendr. Also included are the original songs All For Us by Labrinth & Zendaya (from the season finale) and Lo Vas A Olvidar by Billie Eilish & ROSALÍA (from last year’s special episode Part 2: Jules), both of which have previously been released as a digital single. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Milan Records has previously released a separate soundtrack featuring Labrinth’s score from Season 1.

Dubois Records has released a soundtrack album for the Sky Atlantic original series Domina. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Samuel Sim (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, The Spanish Princess, The Halcyon, Home Fires). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music outlets. Domina is created by Simon Burke and stars Kasia Smutniak, Liam Cunningham, Colette Tchantcho, Claire Forlani, Nadia Parkes, Christine Bottomley, Ben Batt, Matthew McNulty and Isabella Rossellini. The historical drama follows the life and rise of Livia Drusilla from a naïve young girl whose world crumbles in the wake of Julius Caesar’s assassination, to Rome’s most powerful and influential Empress.
First Track from ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’ Soundtrack Released
Walt Disney Records has released the first track from the soundtrack for Lucasfilm’s Disney+ series Star Wars: The Bad Batch. Available to stream/download now as a digital single is Enter the Bad Batch written by the show’s composer Kevin Kiner (Star Wars: The Clone Wars & Rebels, Narcos: Mexico, CSI: Miami, Hell on Wheels, Titans, Doom Patrol). Also listen to the full track after the jump. Two full soundtrack albums will be coming out on June 25 (Volume 1 – Episodes 1-8) and August 20 (Volume 2 – Episodes 9-16). Star Wars: The Bad Batch is created by Dave Filoni and features the voices of Dee Bradley Baker, Ming-Na Wen, Stephen Stanton and Andrew Kishino.
