George Fenton is reuniting with director Andy Tennant to score the upcoming comedy drama Wild Oats. The film stars Shirley MacLaine, Jessica Lange, Demi Moore, Judd Hirsch, Matt Walsh and Billy Connolly. The movie follows a woman who receives an unexpected windfall check from a computer glitch and goes on the run from the law. Claudia Myers (Fort Bliss) and Gary Kanew have written the screenplay. Blythe Frank (Kettle of Fish) is producing the project for Wild Pictures, alongside Kip Konwiser for the Konwiser Brothers. Fenton and Tennant have previously collaborated on such films as Ever After: A Cinderella Story, Anna and the King, Sweet Home Alabama, Hitch, Fool’s Gold and The Bounty Hunter.

The movie follows a youngster who learns about sacrifice through the true story of Polish priest Maximilian Kolbe and the challenges he faced during the Nazi invasion of Poland in World War II. Don Davis is set to score the upcoming sci-fi thriller False Memory Syndrome. The film is directed by Fulvio Sestito and stars Peter Stormare, Jordan Hinson, Dee Wallace and Don Stark. The movie takes place during the shoot of a documentary to expose the lies of alien abductees and follows a provocative filmmaker and his crew who encounter a young woman with a dark secret, who leads them to uncover a disturbing truth. Warren Thomas & Marc Porterfield have written the screenplay based on a story by Sestito & Rebecca Berrih. Martine Melloul is producing the project with Berrih.
Jeff Danna Scoring ‘Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck’
Jeff Danna is reteaming with director Brett Morgen on the upcoming documentary Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck. The film centers around Kurt Cobain, lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter of Nirvana, who remains an icon 20 years after his death. The movie follows Cobain’s life and his career with Nirvana through the lens of his home movies, recordings, artwork, photography, and journals. The documentary features interviews with his family and closest confidantes, including Courtney Love and Dave Grohl. Morgen is also producing the project with Danielle Renfrew Behrens (The Queen of Versailles, Groove).
Peter Golub Scoring ‘Songs My Brothers Taught Me’
Peter Golub has been tapped to score the upcoming indie drama Songs My Brothers Taught Me. The film is written and directed by Chloé Zhao and stars John Reddy, Jashaun St. John, Irene Bedard, Taysha Fuller, Travis Lone Hill and Eléonore Hendricks. The movie takes place at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and follows a brother and his younger sister, who find themselves on separate paths to rediscovering the meaning of home. Zhao is also producing the project with Forest Withaker & Nina Yang Bongiovi (Fruitvale Station, Repentance), Angela C. Lee and Mollye Asher.

Keefus Ciancia is the composer of the upcoming dramatic psychological thriller Strangerland. The film is directed by Kim Farrant and stars Nicole Kidman, Joseph Fiennes, Hugo Weaving, Lisa Flanagan, Meyne Wyatt and Maddison Brown. The movie centers on a couple’s relationship, which is pushed to the brink when their two teenage kids disappear into the remote Australian desert. Dean Wareham and Britta Phillips are reuniting with director Noah Baumbach to score the upcoming indie comedy Mistress America. The movie starring Greta Gerwig and Lola Kirke follows a lonely college freshman in New York who is rescued from her solitude by her soon-to-be stepsister, an adventurous gal about town who entangles her in alluringly mad schemes. Baumbach has also co-written the screenplay with Gerwig. Both are also producing the project with Scott Rudin (The Social Network, Moonrise Kingdom, Captain Phillips, No Country for Old Men), Lila Yacoub (While We’re Young) and Rodrigo Teixeira (Night Moves).

Andrew Feltenstein and John Nau are composing the music for the upcoming indie comedy The Bronze. The film is directed by Bryan Buckley who received an Academy Award nomination for the short Asad and stars Melissa Rauch, Gary Cole, Thomas Middleditch, Sebastian Stan, Haley Lu Richardson and Cecily Strong. The movie centers on Hope Ann Greggory who became an American hero after winning the bronze medal for the women’s gymnastics team in 2004 and is confronted with reassessing her life when a promising young gymnast threatens her local celebrity status.

Mark Isham has been hired to score the upcoming romantic drama The Longest Ride. The film is directed by George Tillman, Jr. (Notorious, Faster) and stars Britt Robertson, Scott Eastwood, Jack Huston, Oona Chaplin and Alan Alda. The movie is based on the bestselling novel by Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook, Dear John) and centers on the star-crossed love affair between a former champion bull rider looking to make a comeback and a college student who is about to embark upon her dream job in New York City’s art world. Craig Bolotin (Black Rain, Light It Up) has written the screenplay. Sparks is also producing the project with Marty Bowen (The Fault in Our Stars, The Maze Runner), Wyck Godfrey (Twilight, I, Robot) and Theresa Park (The Best of Me).
Nathan Larson Scoring Ken Kwapis’ ‘A Walk in the Woods’
Nathan Larson has recently composed the music for the upcoming drama A Walk in the Woods. The film is directed by Ken Kwapis and stars Robert Redford, Nick Nolte, Emma Thompson, Mary Steenburgen, Nick Offerman and Kristen Schaal. The movie follows an aging travel writer who sets out to hike the 2,100-mile Appalachian Trail with a long-estranged high school buddy and learns that some roads are better left untraveled.
