Manuel Riveiro is reteaming with director Eli Roth on the upcoming horror thriller Knock Knock. The film stars Keanu Reeves, Lorenza Izzo, Ana De Armas, Aaron Burns, Ignacia Allamand and Colleen Camp. The movie follows two beautiful young girls who walk into a married man’s life and turn a wild fantasy into his worst nightmare. Roth (Hostel, Cabin Fever, Hemlock Grove) has also co-written the screenplay with Nicolas Lopez and Guillermo Amoedo. Roth, Camp & Lopez are also producing the project with Miguel Asensio Llamas, Cassian Elwes (Lee Daniels’ The Butler, The Paperboy) and Tim Degraye.

Martin Phipps & Hans Zimmer to Score ‘Woman in Gold’
Martin Phipps and Hans Zimmer have recently scored the upcoming drama Woman in Gold. The film is directed by Simon Curtis (My Week with Marilyn) and stars Helen Mirren, Ryan Reynolds, Daniel Bruhl, Katie Holmes, Tatiana Maslany, Max Irons, Charles Dance, Elizabeth McGovern and Jonathan Pryce. The movie follows an elderly Jewish woman who fled Vienna during World War II and, sixty years later, starts her journey to retrieve family possessions seized by the Nazis, among them Klimt’s painting “The Lady in Gold.” Alexi Kaye Campbell has written the screenplay. David M. Thompson (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, What We Did On Our Holiday) is producing the BBC Films and Origin Pictures production with Kris Thykier (Kick-Ass, The Debt).
Joel P. West to Score Paul Weitz’s ‘Grandma’
Paul Weitz has been hired to score the upcoming indie comedy Grandma. The film is written and directed by Paul Weitz (About a Boy, In Good Company, American Pie) and stars Lily Tomlin, Julia Garner, Marcia Gay Harden, Judy Greer, Laverne Cox and Sam Elliott. The movie follows a self-described misanthrope who has her protective bubble burst when her 18-year-old granddaughter shows up needing help. Weitz is also producing the project with Andrew Miano (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, A Single Man), Terry Dougas (Jane Got a Gun) and Paris Latsis.
Alex Wurman Scoring ‘Unfinished Business’
Alex Wurman is the composer of the upcoming comedy Unfinished Business. The film is directed by Ken Scott (Delivery Man, Starbuck) and stars Vince Vaughn, Tom Wilkinson, Dave Franco, Sienna Miller, Nick Frost and James Marsden. The movie follows a relentless businessman with his own company who heads to Germany with his only two employees to clinch a make-or-break deal. Steven Conrad (The Pursuit of Happyness, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty) has written the screenplay. Arnon Milchan (Gone Girl, Birdman) is producing the Escape Artists and New Regency production with Todd Black & Jason Blumenthal (The Equalizer, Knowing, The Weather Man), Steve Tisch (Forrest Gump) and Anthony Katagas (12 Years a Slave, Killing Them Softly).
Brian Tyler to Score ‘Now You See Me: The Second Act’
Brian Tyler is officially set to score the upcoming sequel Now You See Me: The Second Act. The film is directed by Jon M. Chu (G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Step Up 2 & 3D) and stars Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman who reprise their roles from the original movie. They are joined by Daniel Radcliffe, Lizzy Caplan and Jay Chou. The thriller takes place a year after the first part and follows the Four Horsemen who find themselves face to face with a new enemy who enlists them to pull off their most dangerous heist yet. Ed Solomon (Men in Black, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure) & Pete Chiarelli (The Proposal) have written the screenplay. Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci (Star Trek, Eagle Eye, Sleepy Hollow) are producing the project with Bobby Cohen (Revolutionary Road).
Dan Romer Scoring Joe Swanberg’s ‘Digging for Fire’
Dan Romer has been tapped to score the upcoming indie comedy Digging for Fire. The film is directed by Joe Swanberg (Drinking Buddies, Happy Christmas) and stars Jake Johnson, Rosemarie Dewitt, Orlando Bloom, Brie Larson, Sam Rockwell and Anna Kendrick. The movie follows a husband and wife who discover a bone and a gun, which leads them to separate adventures over the course of a weekend. Swanberg has also co-written the screenplay with Johnson. Both are also producing the comedy with Alicia Van Couvering.
Michael Brook Scoring John Crowley’s ‘Brooklyn’
Michael Brook is composing the music for the upcoming romance Brooklyn. The film is directed by John Crowley (Boy A, Intermission, Closed Circuit) and stars Saoirse Ronan, Domhnall Gleeson, Emory Cohen, Julie Walters and Jim Broadbent. The movie is based on the novel by Colm Toibin and follows a young Irish immigrant who is navigating her way through 1950s Brooklyn and must confront a terrible dilemma — a heartbreaking choice between two men and two countries, between duty and true love. Nick Hornby (About a Boy, High Fidelity) has written the screenplay. Finola Dwyer (Quartet, Severance) and Amanda Posey (An Education, Fever Pitch) are producing the project.
Ilan Eshkeri to Score Jared Hess’ ‘Don Verdean’
Ilan Eshkeri has been hired to score the upcoming comedy Don Verdean. The film is directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre) and stars Sam Rockwell, Jemaine Clement, Amy Ryan, Danny McBride, Leslie Bibb and Will Forte. The movie follows a Biblical archaeologist who is hired by a local church pastor to find faith-promoting relics in the Holy Land and is forced to get creative after a fruitless expedition. The director has also co-written the screenplay with Jerusha Hess. Brandt Andersen, Dave Hunter and Jason Hatfield are producing the project. Eshkeri has previously scored the Jerusha Hess-directed romantic comedy Austenland.
Jon Brion to Score Judd Apatow’s ‘Trainwreck’
Jon Brion is reuniting with director Judd Apatow (The 40-Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up) on the upcoming comedy Trainwreck. The film is written by comedian Amy Schumer who also stars in the film alongside Bill Hader, LeBron James, Brie Larson, Tilda Swinton, John Cena and Ezra Miller. The movie follows a commitment-averse woman who is trying to get past her self-sabotaging ways. Apatow is also producing the project with Barry Mendel (The Sixth Sense, Bridesmaids, The Royal Tenenbaums). Brion has previously scored Apatow’s last feature This is 40 and appeared on screen in the director’s 2009 film Funny People.
Dominic Lewis Scoring ‘The DUFF’
Dominic Lewis has been tapped to score the upcoming teen comedy The DUFF. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Ari Sandel who received an Ocar for his short West Bank Story and stars Mae Whitman, Robbie Amell, Bella Thorne, Bianca A. Santos, Allison Janney and Ken Jeong. The movie based on the novel by Kody Keplinger follows a high school senior whose world is turned upside down when she learns that her group of friends has labeled her the DUFF (designated ugly fat friend). Josh A. Kagan (Bandslam) has written the screenplay. McG (Charlie’s Angels, Terminator: Salvation), Susan Cartsonis (What Women Want, Beastly) and Mary Viola (Before We Go, Playing It Cool) are producing the project for Wonderland Sound and Vision.
